Today we’d like to introduce you to Kobe Morrison.
Hi Kobe, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started privately puppeteering in middle school around the same time I made silly videos with my cousins on the apps Vine & Musical.ly. After a while, I wanted to start showcasing my talents online. This gave me the idea to combine the two worlds of puppeteering and making videos with my cousins as one, and TCG Puppets was born. We started off making videos with my family as co-stars to the puppets, which I perform with.
Although, I felt like Musical.ly wasn’t giving these characters enough room to grow & develop and be likable. That’s when I made the decision to make TCG Puppets’ content primarily for YouTube. During the first 3 years, my main goal was to just make people laugh, and entertain audiences of all types in a wholesome way. During my 4th year, I realized that I can use my creativity and platform to put out meaningful messages. Plus, turn my web show into its own brand, by creating more than just videos for the internet. I’ve been able to do live shows, release music, book gigs, and collab with other creators.
Soon I’ll be launching my very own website in honor of my 5 year anniversary on January 17th! As I continue to grow with TCG Puppets, I want to be able to create high-budget tv shows and films to tell more stories that will make others smile but also take something meaningful away from them. I want to make a positive impact in the best way I know-how. Through entertainment.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being so that my content features puppetry, a lot of people find it hard to take it seriously at first glance. They often compare me or assume I make baby content or content that’s unappealing to mature audiences. This can be hard because it can narrow my audience down when I release fresh material because some people won’t give it a chance.
Or when I reach out to collab with other artists and creators, some of them turn me down because they fear our brands would clash or don’t mix well. This is why I am extremely grateful for the people who have taken a chance on me and believed in me as a creator. and saw my potential to do something great with them.
Though As I continue to grow and make better content that really captures my vision and what I want to produce, I feel like I will be able to fully establish what TCG Puppets is truly about and how it’s able to be consumable to all.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
TCG Puppets: Comedy & Entertainment specializes in and is most known for online sketch comedy. Over time we’ve incorporated original songs, parodies, cosplay, and live shows featuring stand-up, and musical performances. What sets TCG Puppets apart from other comedians is that we use a wide variety of puppets with multiple personalities to deliver jokes.
What sets us apart from other puppeteers is that we incorporate original songs into what we do. Each of our songs is a perfect blend of radio hits and comical musical soundtracks. We try to have our music be appealing to a wide audience, so we strive to make it sound really good while also telling a story. The last thing that I feel really separates us is that our comedy/music comes from the mind and perspective of a young, black, gay creator (myself). With this, I feel I have the power to relate to multiple communities and generations and tap into everyone’s sense of humor and appeal.
Something that I’m extremely proud of is my upcoming short film TCG Puppets: Halloween Spooktacular. It’s my first ever professional short film that I was able to write, produce, direct, edit and it’s the most high-quality project I’ve ever done so far. Plus it’s my first collaboration with 3 fellow online comedians and puppeteers with a huge following. The film was supposed to be released this past Halloween but will be pushed back for 2022 because of the editing process.
Although, I was able to release the music video for the song “Halloween Night” featured in the movie. Which has already gotten a lot of support. I feel like the music video and overall movie capture my growth as a storyteller, performer, and filmmaker. I can’t wait for everyone to see it in October 2022!
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My family deserves a HUGE amount of credit. My mom inspires and encourages me to always follow my dreams and passions and believes in me 100%. Plus she provides the materials that I need and also keeps me on track as far as being careful with decision making, and making sure I’m also focused on my education and etcetera.
My twin brother, Kore, helps me so much with my music, graphic designs, and visual displays. My cousins Leayah, and Deanna and also Christian, Desirae, Lexi, Jayden, and Jewel bring so much to the table to support the puppets when recording our sketches together and bring such a great dynamic to TCG Puppets content.
Additionally, I also have a lot of support from my aunts, uncles, extended family, friends, teachers, and mentors that all support me and my journey as an entertainer and with TCG Puppets. Whether that’s helping to film, providing transportation, coming to live performances, sharing a post, commenting under videos, spreading the word, helping to raise money, and etc.

Had the pleasure of working with Kobe on a project with our organization, the AngelWing Project. Creative, multi-gifted and all around nice human being. Kudos to Kobe and TCG puppets.
