Today, we’d like to introduce you to Jaharry (Wizzy Bandz) Edwards.
Hi Jaharry, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Out of the frying pan into the fire. Born in the mean streets of Baltimore to two young parents, 15 and 16. Thank God I had my grandmas and great-grandparents to assist my parents with me. They absorbed a lot of the shock of this situation. My mother moved around a little bit, so I attended a few public schools, Hazelwood, Brehms Lane, and Lakeland. I was a smart kid.
Excellent grades but talkative and sometimes got in with the wrong crowds and situations. Dribbling and dabbling in the streets to make some quick money, even selling mixtapes at one point. The pressure was on as an adolescent. Rap dreams of watching Lil Wayne on Bet. Little did I know that rap and entertainment would play a big role in my life and career. Fast forward to after graduating high school, when I finally found a decent job in commission-based sales. Once I learned about the legal business, that’s how it all started.
Wholesale and retail in a sales setting. I learned about profit and loss, expense reports, customer service, and hiring. Things needed to scale a business. While working, I met Valentino Chris. A fire pianist and musician who produced music. I had seen him play, and he visited my store a few times before we actually linked. But once we did, that was murder, she wrote.
With my connections and knowledge of sales and his production, before you knew it, we had made a crucial impact on those already in the entertainment space. Our talent was noticed quickly. Starting with a few songs and videos, pretty soon, we transitioned to party entertainment and promotion. I booked and hosted events, and Valentino started doing videography and photography for many artists in the city. Persistence is really the name of my story.
Making it wasn’t the question. When was the question? Fast forward, I am a proud affiliate of the Wu-tang family. Chief executive of my company, Bandz Enterprise, life coach, and actor. I’ve worked with the biggest names in the business. Including Jasmine Guy, Remy Ma, and many more. All in all, No matter what, DO NOT give up.
I’m currently working on an EP called SURVIVAL MODE, which will be available on iTunes and Spotify. The one and only Gucci Mane will be featured on my debut album. The Bandz Album will also be available on all platforms. Be on the lookout. And remember, NEVER GIVE UP!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As a youth, I had never heard so much in my life. The industry seemed so far out of reach. Everything seemed to be an obstacle. As momentum was building, we found out my producer had to move back to Africa because he was here on a student visa.
At that point, it was back to the drawing board in terms of recording. Throwing parties became a headache. In the industry, there will be many obstacles. Stand firm, keep the goal in mind, and use everything to your advantage.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Music Mogul. Manager and Owner. Executive. I wear many hats. Throughout the years, I’ve acquired many skills. Aside from music, I run a media company and a home improvement business. We also have a production company called Trunk Knockers Studios, run by Phil Jackson, aka Yelaboi. We also have a music label and company, DC Recordings.
This is what I am most proud of. We created the Uber for record labels. Are you an artist manager, producer, or aspiring A&R????? We have the opportunity of a lifetime with this. We do all your promo and manage all your artists. We also book gigs and do in-house giveaways to help artists progress. You broker your own deals.

What changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Ai is the future of this industry. You should see more content, more movies, more books. Ai is definitely making a dent in the industry. Lots of opportunities.
