Life & Work with Hamaad Briggs of National

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hamaad Briggs.

Hamaad, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
MAADISH started in 2017 from a simple idea: I wanted to build something that represented who I was becoming, not just what I wanted to wear. I wasn’t interested in following trends—I wanted to create a brand that stood for discipline, growth, purpose, and confidence.

Like most entrepreneurs, the journey hasn’t been a straight line. I’ve balanced building MAADISH while working a full-time job, learning marketing, improving my designs, and figuring out what my customers truly connect with. Every challenge taught me something, and instead of giving up, I kept refining the vision.

Today, MAADISH has evolved into more than an apparel brand. It’s a lifestyle for men who are committed to becoming the best version of themselves. Every collection is designed to encourage confidence, ambition, and consistency—whether you’re in the gym, building a business, leading your family, or chasing your goals.

I’m still building, still learning, and still growing, but that’s the point. MAADISH represents the journey, not just the destination. My goal is to create a global brand that inspires people to wear their discipline and live with purpose every single day.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. Like many entrepreneurs, the journey has come with plenty of obstacles. One of the biggest challenges has been building MAADISH while working a full-time job. Balancing long work shifts with designing new collections, creating content, marketing, and fulfilling orders has required a lot of discipline and sacrifice.

Another challenge has been learning that having a great product isn’t enough. I’ve had to teach myself branding, social media marketing, photography, video editing, and how to consistently capture people’s attention online. There have been times when sales were slow or content didn’t perform the way I hoped, but I’ve learned to view those moments as feedback rather than failure.

Financially, I’ve also had to be patient. Every dollar invested into MAADISH has been intentional, and instead of looking for overnight success, I’ve focused on building a brand with a strong foundation and long-term vision.

The biggest lesson throughout the journey has been persistence. Success rarely happens overnight, but if you’re willing to keep learning, adapt, and stay consistent, every setback becomes part of the story that prepares you for what’s next.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m the founder and creative director of MAADISH, a premium streetwear brand built around discipline, purpose, and personal growth. I design collections, create the brand’s marketing campaigns, produce content, and oversee the vision behind every release. Every piece is created with the intention of inspiring people to become the best version of themselves.

What I’m most proud of is that MAADISH has never just been about selling clothing. It’s about building a community and a mindset. The brand represents the journey of becoming—showing up every day, staying disciplined, and pursuing your goals even when no one is watching. That message is woven into everything I create, from the apparel to the storytelling behind each campaign.

I believe what sets MAADISH apart is its authenticity. I don’t create products just because they’re trending. Every design reflects my own journey of growth, faith, resilience, and ambition. I also enjoy pushing the creative side of fashion by producing cinematic campaigns, magazine-style editorials, and lifestyle content that gives the brand a luxury feel while remaining relatable.

At the end of the day, I want people to put on MAADISH and feel like they’re wearing more than a brand—they’re wearing a reminder to live with discipline, confidence, and purpose.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is seeing growth—whether it’s in my own life or in the lives of others. I enjoy setting a goal, putting in the work every day, and watching that effort turn into real progress. That applies to my faith, my health, my business, my relationships, and my personal development.

Building MAADISH brings me a lot of joy because it allows me to create something bigger than myself. Knowing that someone chooses to wear the brand because it represents discipline, confidence, and purpose is incredibly rewarding. It reminds me that I’m not just selling clothing—I’m helping people express who they are and who they’re striving to become.

I also find happiness in spending quality time with the people I care about, traveling, creating content, and continuously learning. At the end of the day, what fulfills me most is living with purpose, growing consistently, and leaving a positive impact on others. That’s what motivates me every day.
