Today we’d like to introduce you to Dj Chulo
Dj , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started Djing back in 2014 as a hobby around the time I was getting ready to enter the police academy. However I never thought to take Djing seriously. It was mostly a hobby. Something to just do while I was at home.
Most people don’t know I cut hair as well. Which during Covid all of the barbers shops were closed ,which helped me because I started cutting more heads. On of my police officer friend came over my house and noticed I have a turn table. Which he asked why didn’t I ever Dj on Instagram and Facebook live, people were not doing anything but going on live around that time. So I started going on live Djing. The Crowds grew as well along with my notoriety.
I am where I am today from persistence and hard work. A lot of people wanted to start Djing after covid because people thought it was the “cool” thing to do. But quickly realized it was a lot of work and took REAL PRACTICE
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Through this process it’s been ALOT of ups and downs. Mainly trying to get bookings on the private scene along with clubs. Working with promotors can be difficult. A lot of them like only booking their friends or people they think are “cool”. But mostly over coming those things and building relationships and people seeing your work ethical making things a little easier.
Secondly being really active on social media to grow the platform is also a struggle. The algorithm is a difficult process to understand.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Well I have three things I mainly do
POLICE OFFICER
Currently I am an active member of a multi jurisdictional SWAT team.
PROFESSIONAL DJ
I Dj in multiple clubs, I’ve traveled to mutiple states to dj events ….along accepting private bookings I.e , birthdays weddings corporate events.
Also Cutting hair for those who need cuts
Any big plans?
Well currently I’m in a transitional period In my life I just entered my 30s. I’m 32. I am currently working relocating, along with changes within my professional career. I don’t want to speak on the moves to much I just want to make them happen.
But of course they will be BIG changes.
