Life & Work with Courtney Epps

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Epps.

Hi Courtney, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
As a little girl, I always wanted to be a hairstylist. My Mom is a stylist so I grew up in the hair industry.

When I went to high school, my Mom wouldn’t let me choose Cosmetology as my major so I decided to take CADD. After high school, I still yearned to service women in the beauty industry so I registered for Cosmetology School, was immediately licensed after graduation, and haven’t stopped since.

2 years ago, during the pandemic, I woke up and I could hear the spirit of God so clear tell me to get up and begin looking for a building. I got dressed and headed out. I didn’t know where to go or what exactly to look for. After a few weeks of looking, we found a building and signed a contract where we are now licensed and operating as a full-service Beauty establishment.

Suites By Co’Chele is located in Pikesville, MD. We are a boutique Salon Suites where we pride ourselves on the luxury life of Suites. To date, all of our suites are occupied by hairstylists, makeup artists, wax specialists, and nail technicians.

Just this past weekend I had the pleasure of launching a Full HairCare Line… “Evolve”. It’s a luxury Hair Growth Line for the entire family. We also celebrated 20 years in the hair industry for me! I’m truly grateful and thankful. I get great joy out of servicing people.

I love to see their happiness. I truly believe my assignment on earth is to minister through haircare.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t been easy but as the group, Mary Mary sings… I don’t believe he’s brought me this far to leave me!

Anything worth having is worth fighting for! Truly! With any business endeavor, there will be bumps and bruises. Learning curves and celebrations. I would advise anyone trying to pursue a career in the beauty industry to be sure to have a mentor (vet) so that you won’t have to learn and figure everything out on your own.

I always feel like you can glean from those that paved the way for you. I’m forever grateful for my mentors because they prevented a lot of bumps that I could have sustained. I would also recommend everyone to research as much as possible.

A few things I didn’t research fully and had to deal with the consequences of not comparing. It was a lesson learned. Sometimes we don’t have the patience to research but it’s a great business practice that will save you in the long run.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
About 9 years ago, I had a client come into the salon with no hair in the middle and she asked what could I do.

It sparked my interest in those who suffer from hair loss. I love a good challenge so I prayed and asked God to lead me through her service. She loved it and kept booking with me. 2 years later, her hair had grown and she was no longer bald in the middle.

It was then that I know my passion for my business. I began researching hair loss, I took classes and studied in order to perfect my craft and use it as a driving tool to help those who suffer from the alopecia and/or hair loss.

To date, I offer a Non-Surgical Hair Replacement Service. Like anything, you must invest! I offered specials, I did a few clients for free, and I hired a photographer and videographer to get footage in order to expand my brand and to help with promoting what I knew could help a lot of people.

There was a period when I felt like that area of business was stagnant but I kept pursuing it, even if it was the same picture or video I kept posting and I see the fruit. This service is beginning to be very popular and women come from far and near to be serviced.

It’s by far my FAVORITE service to render.

Any big plans?
My goal is twofold.

My first goal is to have my hair products in stores all over the world! It’s a great product that produces great results. I’ve never used a product line where every product was beneficial and aligned with its description. I’m really not saying this because it’s my product lol I stand behind it because it’s true.

My second goal is to be able to go on Livestream for those all over the United States to see and inquire about Non-Surgical Hair Replacement. It wasn’t until about 2 years ago when more women started booking consultations that I learned how many women suffer in silence as it relates to hair loss.

It’s a very quiet topic but there’s a large audience of clientele who are praying about a solution.

  • Non-Surgical Hair Replacement $280+
  • Non-Surgical Hair Replacement Consultation $0
