Life & Work with Angela Soto

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Soto.

Hi Angela, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Angela Soto and I have been in the hair industry for over 15 years!

I began styling hair in Puerto Rico and now currently own a salon in Baltimore, Maryland. Throughout my career I have partaken in multiple trainings and shows that led to me being awarded as top creative artist in 2015 for SJBS. I truly love to share my knowledge and art with other hair stylists which is why I also became an educator for Matrix and Biolage.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has been nothing but amazing. Although I have had obstacles stand in the way from focusing on my dream as an artist, my ambition keeps me striving to be the best stylist and educator I can be. My kids have always kept me going and for them I will continue to elevate my career in this industry.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I put love and passion into my work. I really call it art! I currently specialize in fun fashion colors and blondes. I love being able to create artworks with various colors that enhance the beauty of my clients. As well as hair coloring, I love educating all of my clients about their hair care/health. I put the health of their hair before anything which builds that genuine relationship between my clients and I.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
No matter where you come from, dream BIG. Master you emotions, master your mindset and just go for it! Visualize your highest self and show up as her/he every single day.
