Timothy Kullu shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Timothy, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I got married this year, and that has truly been a blessing. Partnering with my wife to tackle life together has been so worthwhile. One highlight I can’t help but share is when we started doing Bible study with one of our couple friends, reading through the book of John. Around that same time, our church approached my wife and me to share the Word on a Sunday. The sermon series was titled “Messages from the Secret Place,” where we were encouraged to share what God was speaking to us in our personal time with Him.
From preparing together to sharing with the church, my wife and I were able to speak about how God has been showing up in our lives, drawing from the very Bible study we were doing with our friends. That experience has challenged and inspired us to start doing the same with more couples in our circle and it continues to bring us joy.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Kullu. My brand is KrisProductions, but I currently work with Axcess Studios, where we specialize in high-impact video production for mission-driven businesses and non-profits. We craft compelling visual stories that inspire action. Whether it’s capturing impactful moments, producing engaging video content, or delivering stunning photography, our goal is always to elevate brands and bring their vision to life.
While we primarily serve the DMV area, we’re not limited to it. What sets us apart is that we are purpose-driven. It’s not our vision we seek to push forward, it’s our clients’. We take time to carefully walk through their vision, from in-person conversations to video discovery meetings, ensuring that nothing is left up to chance. We treat our clients as part of our team.
Although we work with all types of clients, non-profits and mission-driven organizations hold a special place in our hearts because we are deeply inclined to serve. We also work within the budget clients set aside for their vision, while still delivering the best possible quality. Currently, we’re working on implementing a subscription-based service that offers a more budget-friendly, contractual option that allows organizations to focus less on marketing and outreach, knowing they have us to take care of it.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
For me, lack of trust and jealousy are the biggest things that break bonds between people. Without trust, a relationship can’t really survive, and jealousy makes trust impossible. I think most broken connections come down to these two.
What brings them back together is reliability and integrity. Showing up consistently and being honest builds those bonds again, leaving no room for doubt.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self, “It’s okay that you don’t have it all figured out. Keep nurturing your relationship with God, it’s the most important thing in life. Everything will be okay, even if it’s not perfect.”
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
I think one place smart people are going wrong today is in prioritizing data over people. While having more data can offer a competitive edge, valuing it above human well-being feels deeply unethical. I hope we reach a point where data serves humanity, rather than confines it; where it empowers rather than “imprisons” mankind.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I would love for my legacy to be remembered for how I served others. When the blessing of children comes, I hope they see me as an example of a father who devoted his life to sharing God’s love and serving in His name for the betterment of humanity. I hope people will say that God used me to make an impact in their lives, not for my glory, but for His, so that many more may find hope in Him.
