Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Tierra Robinson of Eastern Shore of MD

We recently had the chance to connect with Tierra Robinson and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Tierra, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is a normal day like for you right now?
Right now, a typical day is a mix of motherhood, healing, and running my business—all rolled into one. I’m in a season where I’m nursing my baby, helping my oldest with school stuff, and still showing up for my clients and community through Reign Body and Soul Aromatherapy.

Most mornings start with tending to my baby and grabbing some tea (if I’m lucky, while it’s still warm). Then I shift into business mode—making custom blends, responding to messages, packing orders, or working on content for social media.

I usually keep my little one close while I work, so I’ve learned to move with the flow. Some days I’m hands-on in the shop or leading a workshop, other days I’m creating from home or catching up on rest when I can.

No two days are exactly the same, but I try to stay grounded, take care of my body, and make space for joy—even in the chaos.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey readers!! I’m Tierra Robinson, a certified clinical aromatherapist, herbalist, and founder of Reign Body and Soul Aromatherapy. I’m also known online as the Chronic Migraine Queen because I’ve lived with migraine since I was a child, and they’ve shaped so much of my journey—personally and professionally.

After years of trying to manage chronic pain, I turned to plant-based healing and fell in love with aromatherapy and herbalism. What started as me making remedies for myself grew into a mission to help others find relief and reclaim their wellness naturally. That’s how Reign Body and Soul was born.

Through my brand, I offer handcrafted aromatherapy and herbal products, holistic wellness consultations, recovery sessions, and make-and-take workshops. Every blend I make is intentional and often inspired by my own lived experiences—whether that’s managing pain, supporting postpartum healing, or simply needing a moment to rest and breathe.

Right now, I’m balancing life as a new mom while expanding my offerings—creating more educational content, planning workshops, and continuing to be a voice for chronic pain warriors who want natural options that actually work. Everything I do is rooted in the belief that healing is possible, and it doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s version but your own.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed I had to fit in and be like everyone else in order to be accepted. I thought blending in was the only way to be “normal” or loved. But over time, I realized that I wasn’t made to fit in—I was made to stand out.

Now I embrace my uniqueness and see it as a gift. The things that once made me feel different are the very things that make me powerful, creative, and connected to my purpose. I no longer try to shrink myself—I honor who I am, fully and unapologetically.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain when I realized that staying silent wasn’t helping anyone—not even me. For years, I masked my chronic migraines, spinal stenosis, anxiety, and depression because I didn’t want to seem weak or be a burden. I thought pushing through quietly was the strong thing to do—but it only made me feel more isolated and disconnected.

The shift happened when I started being honest about what I was going through. I began sharing my experiences publicly—first through the Chronic Migraine Queen page and later with my business, Reign Body and Soul Aromatherapy. I saw how my story resonated with others, especially those silently battling their own pain. That’s when I realized my pain had a purpose. It wasn’t something to hide—it was something to use.

Now, I use my journey to educate, uplift, and help others find relief through holistic healing. My pain became my power, and it gave me the strength to create something meaningful—not just for me, but for my entire community.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
A cultural value I protect at all costs is rest as resistance and restoration as a right. As a Black woman, a mother, and a healer, I’ve witnessed how rest is often denied—physically, emotionally, and generationally. I refuse to glamorize burnout or hustle culture. Rest isn’t a reward—it’s a necessity. It’s how we reconnect, repair, and reclaim our power.

In my life and my business, I encourage others to pause, to listen to their bodies, and to prioritize rest without guilt. Whether it’s through a healing tea, a recovery session, or just sitting in stillness, I hold space for people—especially Black women—to remember that their well-being matters.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m near the water. There’s something about the sound, the flow, and the stillness all at once that calms my entire nervous system. Whether it’s a lake, ocean, or even a quiet creek, being by the water reminds me to slow down, breathe deeply, and just be. It’s where I feel most connected to myself, to God, and to nature.

That kind of peace is healing for me—it’s where my ideas flow, my spirit rests, and I remember that I don’t have to carry everything alone.
