Hi Shamer , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What battle are you avoiding?
The battle that I’m avoiding is my fears. I use to let my fears get the best of me but, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me and fear isn’t real.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, Shamer Miles I’m from Baltimore Md living here my whole life, I’m a mom of 2 they are my whole. The name is my business is Bracsthis(brace-this) i started this back in 2020. I made all my items i sell beaded jewelry such as beaded bracelets necklaces and now I’ve added resin decor to my collection. I’ve always love fashion it was something about the accessories they were more like a statement piece once you finish your outfit. I’m working on honestly I wanna have my accessory line to be like the big names their Herman, the Alex and Annie, etc.. my goal in s to have a store front soon.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Honestly, God i prayed for a 2nd chance to have my business. It was like i had to rebuild myself. Matthew 21:21 “Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen.” This my 2nd chance at having my business but it feels like the 1st time I’m seeing me.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stop holding my pain when i would go live on my Instagram page (@ bracs_this) and i would talk about the fears of having a business, working full time and being a mom and just talking about me i didn’t really realize that i was helping other women and then, i started seeing how helping other moms and to know i wasn’t alone made going through it easier . If you ever listen to Beyoncé song power that when i started using my power she has this line “gotta protect my grace
Keep it locked in the safe
Don’t make me get back to my ways
My power, they′ll never take” that’s my part lol
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie at the industry that I’m in tells it’s over-saturated everybody’s doing beads everybody’s gonna jewelry, but I always say it may be oversaturated with beads and jewelry but, nobody is doing it the way I’m doing it.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
My customers will miss most my smile. I get a lot of compliments on my smile but my personality. I have a good heart. I have a big heart always have people tell me that I’m a vibe. Haha
