Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Ru Amin of Baltimore

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ru Amin. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Ru, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ince breaker: When have you felt most loved—and did you believe you deserved it?
I have felt the most love over the past 4 years since I started my entertainment career. My fellow entertainers pour so much love into me and they really make me feel like I can accomplish anything. They constantly remind me of how gifted and talented I am. I am so grateful to have such genuine people in my life who love me for me and support my entertainment career and truly want to see me win.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Ruwaydah Amin (Ru) and I am an Entertainer. I started my entertainment company “Ru’s Way 1988” in 2021. I am an actress, model, poet, writer, musician, weight loss coach, motivational speaker, and a podcast host. My podcast show is called “Be True With Ru Podcast.” I love being able to live my dreams and be who God called me to be. I pour my all into my passions and gifts. I truly love what I do in the entertainment industry.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was when I would make my parents and siblings go to my fake concerts in our house. I would perform my original songs and poems for them and they loved it. That was when I first fell in love with being an entertainer and realized how gifted I truly am.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering and struggling taught me resilience. I was forced to never give up and keep going. Often times things didn’t go the way I wanted them to but I never give up and I never lost faith in God, I know that everything in life happens for a reason. Life is beautiful it’s up to us to find the beauty in it.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I think my closest friends would say that helping people and pouring love is what really matters to me. I am always helping others and giving love to people. I love making people believe in themselves and feel good about themselves. The world can be so cruel so I love to just make people feel loved and appreciated.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Since starting my company Ru’s Way 1988 and pursuing my entertainment career I am now doing what I was born to do. I feel like I am finally becoming my true self and living the life I desire. Being in front of the camera, on the runway or on a stage always brings me to life and puts the biggest smile on my face. I feel like I am truly living the life that God wants me to live.
