Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Derek Miller & Victoria Miller

We recently had the chance to connect with Derek Miller & Victoria Miller and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Derek & Victoria, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Our Family
We’re all about family time! The workweek can get pretty hectic, so when the weekend comes around, we love slowing down and hanging out with the people who matter most.

Right now, our biggest joy is our 16-month-old daughter. Watching her grow and learn new things every day has been the sweetest, most amazing part of our lives. Parenthood has been a wild and wonderful ride, and we’re so thankful for it all.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello! We’re Derek & Vee

We’re the founders and operators of a real estate photography company based in Washington, D.C. Since launching in 2020, we’ve been fortunate to grow steadily and build something we’re incredibly proud of.

Our services include photography, videography, 3D tours, floor plans, and virtual staging. If we had to describe our style in one word, it would be clean. We’re obsessed with quality, and we pride ourselves on delivering polished, detail-oriented work that’s always been carefully reviewed before it reaches our clients.

What started as just the two of us has grown into a talented team of six photographers – and counting. Our growth has been a blessing, but what matters most to us has never changed: client satisfaction and consistency. We put our clients first, always. And we’re honored that our reputation reflects that.

We’re deeply grateful for the journey so far and excited for what’s ahead. No matter how much we grow, our goal remains the same – deliver exceptional work and ensure every client feels taken care of.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
I would say both of our parents. They are all very hard working people.

What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
That failure is needed. Its how we learn and grow

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely! We are genuine honest people 🙂

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Vee and I truly care about our employees. To us, they’re more than just team members — they’re family. We do everything we can to ensure they feel appreciated, supported, and heard every single day.

It’s heartbreaking to see how often that kind of care is missing in today’s workplaces. We have some friends who are stuck in jobs where they feel undervalued and disrespected. Too many companies have reduced people to numbers, forgetting the human side of business — and that’s just not right.

We believe that when you take care of your people, everything else falls into place.
