We’re looking forward to introducing you to Corey Bell. Check out our conversation below.
Corey , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Wow! Can I say all three? LOL.
But seriously, Warren Buffett said it best:
“You’re looking for three things, generally, in a person: intelligence, energy, and integrity. And if they don’t have the last one, don’t even bother with the first two.”
If I had to choose one, it’s integrity, every time. It governs and guides the other two. Without it, intelligence can be dangerous, and energy can be reckless.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Sure. My name is Corey Bell, and I’m a 21st-century leader who believes in pushing boundaries and breaking molds. I have the incredible opportunity to lead a nonprofit called Corey Bell Ministries, where our focus is helping people discover who they really are and walk confidently in that identity.
At the heart of what I do is a passion for people. Whether it’s in a church, the streets, a room full of leaders, or a one-on-one conversation, I’m called to remind people that they matter, they’re seen, and they were created for more.
Corey Bell Ministries isn’t just an organization. It’s a movement. We’re reaching the forgotten, speaking life into the overlooked, and creating space for transformation. Right now, I’m working on some exciting initiatives that will expand our reach and deepen our impact. This year also marks our 5-year anniversary and my 20th year in ministry, so it’s a special time of reflection, celebration, and fresh vision.
I’m not trying to be famous. I’m just trying to be faithful. If I can help one person realize that their story isn’t over, then I’m doing what I was born to do.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was unapologetically me: curious, creative, drawn to people’s pain but also to their potential. Before titles, timelines, or expectations, I was just a boy who loved God, loved deeply, and felt called to something bigger than himself,
even if I couldn’t name it yet.
Before I was told to tone it down, dim my light, or fit in,I was already becoming who God designed me to be.
Not perfect, but full of purpose.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Wow!! That’s a great question. That makes me reflect and look back.
The Bible says in 2 Timothy 2:12, “If we suffer with Him, we will also reign with Him.” Everybody loves to celebrate the reign, the spotlight, the success…
But very few stop to ask, what did it cost you to get there?
Suffering taught me what success never could. It taught me how to stay low.
Not low in confidence, but low in posture. Not low in calling, but low in pride.
Humility became a lifeline.
It reminds me that it’s never about how high I go, but how surrendered I stay.
Because elevation without humility is a setup for a fall.
I admire people who don’t just talk about integrity, they live it.
People who stay consistent when no one’s watching.
If I had to name someone, it wouldn’t be the most powerful or popular.
It would be the person who remained humble in the spotlight, kind in the chaos, and faithful in the background.
I hope people say I lived poured out. That I didn’t hold back. That I showed up with boldness, with heart, and with compassion. That I spoke truth even when it was uncomfortable, loved people even when it was inconvenient, and stood in the gap when others walked away. I want them to say I left rooms better than I found them, people stronger than I met them, and that I always pointed them back to purpose
That my life was a seed, and what I planted still lives on. I want people to say that Corey Bell was truly one of a kind.”
