We’re looking forward to introducing you to Abhishek Nigam. Check out our conversation below.
Abhishek, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Photography has been bringing me a lot of joy outside of work. Exploring new locations, experimenting with lighting and composition, and capturing moments—whether it’s portraits, nature, or street scenes or toy —has been incredibly fulfilling. It gives me a creative outlet and a sense of mindfulness. I also enjoy connecting with other creatives through photography meetups and workshops—it’s refreshing to be in a space where ideas and inspiration flow so naturally. It’s not just a hobby; it’s something that genuinely recharges me.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Abhishek Nigam – a passionate photographer and visual storyteller.
Photography, for me, is more than just capturing images; it’s about preserving emotion, connection, and the magic that exists in everyday moments. Through my brand, I focus on creating meaningful portraits, editorial-style shoots, and lifestyle imagery that feels both authentic and artistic.
What sets my work apart is the experience I strive to create for every client – collaborative, relaxed, and deeply personal. I believe the best images happen when people feel seen and celebrated for who they truly are. My tagline, “Together, We Make Magic Happen,” reflects this spirit of creative partnership.
Currently, I’m working on expanding into themed portrait series, incorporating storytelling, fashion, and cultural elements to offer a unique perspective through the lens. I’m also passionate about mentoring budding photographers and building a community where creativity and growth go hand in hand.
Thank you for the opportunity to share my journey – I’m excited about what lies ahead and the stories still waiting to be told.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A defining moment that shaped the way I see the world was when I picked up a camera with a deeper purpose—not just to capture an image, but to tell a story.
It happened during a casual stroll through a local street market, where I photographed a street vendor smiling warmly despite the visible challenges around him. That candid shot—and the raw emotion it carried—opened my eyes to the quiet power of everyday moments that often go unnoticed.
Since then, I’ve also developed a fascination with toy figures and statues. I see them as more than objects—they carry untold stories. Through my creative process, I try to capture their essence and bring out emotion, giving life to the inanimate through photography.
This journey has transformed how I observe people, light, emotion, and even silence. It taught me to slow down, to notice the unnoticed, and to find beauty in simplicity. It’s given me a more empathetic, intentional lens—both as a photographer and as a human being.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that’s held me back the most is the fear of not being good enough.
I used to worry a lot about how others would see my work or if I was truly ready to take on new challenges. That fear made me hold back from sharing my ideas or putting myself out there.
But over time, I realized that waiting for everything to be perfect only slows you down. I’ve learned to take chances, trust myself, and grow through the process—even if it feels uncomfortable at first.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I deeply admire people who embody quiet strength—those who remain kind, honest, and steady even through life’s challenges. One example that stands out to me is Demi Moore, whose autobiography Inside Out reveals her childhood trauma, struggles with addiction, and insecurities with raw honesty and no sugarcoating. Her openness reminds us that true healing begins when we stop hiding and start facing the truth, both with ourselves and others.
Another person I admire is the movie star Shahrukh Khan, especially for his powerful belief that failure is essential to growth. His perspective teaches us to embrace mistakes instead of fearing them and to remain humble no matter how far we rise.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m fully immersed in the moment—whether that’s during a quiet early morning walk, behind the camera capturing a genuine smile, or simply sitting somewhere calm with no distractions. It’s in those moments of stillness and focus that I find clarity and a deep sense of calm.
