Jimmy IV shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Jimmy, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, amidst the whirlwind
of podcasting and work, the
simple presence of my 2-year-old male Saint Bernard, named “Baba Yaga”, has become a source of unexpected joy.
Named after the fierce yet captivating character from the John Wick movie series, Baba Yaga reminds me daily of the calm in the chaos.
His loyalty and the way he leans into me after a hard day offers a kind of peace that’s hard to put into words.
Whether it’s the way his massive paws thud on the floor or how he looks up at me with those soulful eyes, he has a magical way of grounding me in the moment.
With him by my side,
aka Shadow Horse, the stresses
of the world seems to fade into
the background, and all that’s left
is love, comfort, and a sense of unspoken connection.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The foundation of who I am today
was built by three powerful forces in my life: my mama, my grandmama, and my dad — each of them shaping how I see myself and the world in their own unforgettable way.
My “mama” taught me strength with grace. She showed me what it means to love deeply, to speak truth with kindness, and to stand tall even when life feels heavy. Her resilience and nurturing spirit taught me that vulnerability isn’t weakness, it’s a quiet kind of power.
My “grandmama” was pure wisdom. She carried generations of strength in her presence, and her words often felt like gentle echoes from the universe itself. She passed down traditions, values, and a kind of soulful dignity that continues to guide me. Her love was a compass, steady, warm, and unconditional.
And then there’s “my dad — my hero”. His strength, integrity, and quiet leadership made me believe in the power of being grounded. He led by example, teaching me the importance of character, discipline, and showing up for the people you love. He’s the reason I walk through life with intention and purpose.
Together, they shaped the lens through which I see myself: someone rooted in love, guided by legacy, keeping your word to someone means more than currency, never to do anything halfway, and stay committed to being the best version of myself everyday, just like they always believed I could.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Living with Cardiac Sarcoidosis, general Sarcoidosis, a weakened heart, and Chronic Fatigue has taught me that success isn’t just about reaching goals, it’s about surviving the days you didn’t think you could, and still choosing to show up with purpose.
These challenges have stripped life down to its rawest form, forcing me to reevaluate what truly matters. I’ve learned that strength isn’t about pushing through without pain, it’s about honoring your limits while still refusing to give up.
Success, for me, has become
a daily practice of grace: managing symptoms, protecting my peace,
and pouring what energy I have into something meaningful.
The SexyCoolLounge was born from spaces like this where pain meets purpose, where vulnerability becomes a bridge to healing, and where “good vibes only” is more than a slogan, it’s survival. It’s spiritual. It’s sacred.
Suffering has taught me empathy, presence, and the value of rest. It taught me to celebrate small wins,
to prioritize joy, and to be deeply intentional with how I spend my time and energy. Success is no longer about the hustle, it’s about alignment. And even on my hardest days,
I know I’m still rising.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My Values,
My Views,
My Voice
I believe in truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. I stand for awareness, even when others stay silent. And I hold space for healing, mine, yours, and anyone else who’s been forced
to walk through pain without understanding or support.
I’m now committed to two causes
that have shaped my life:
Narcissistic Abuse Awareness and Sarcoidosis Awareness, often called “The Snowflake Disease.”
These aren’t just
hashtags or passing interests.
They are deeply personal missions.
Narcissistic Abuse Awareness:
Emotional abuse leaves no bruises, but it scars deeply.
Narcissistic abuse from a male or female, whether from a partner, parent, or someone in power, is often invisible, minimized, or misunderstood. Survivors are left questioning their reality, their worth, and sometimes, their sanity.
I speak out at times for those whose voices have been silenced, gaslit, or dismissed. My mission is to bring awareness to the manipulative patterns of narcissistic abuse and to validate the experiences of survivors. Healing begins with recognition and freedom starts with knowledge.
Sarcoidosis Awareness:
“The Snowflake Disease”
Sarcoidosis is often called the “Snowflake Disease” because no two cases are the same. It’s rare, complex, and unpredictable. It affects different organs, comes and goes without warning, and is often misdiagnosed or ignored. But to those who live with it, it’s not rare—it’s reality.
I raise awareness because every snowflake deserves to be seen.
I share, educate, and advocate because no one should have to navigate this disease alone or in
the dark.
This Is My Commitment:
No matter
How long it takes.
No matter
How many times I have to explain.
No matter
How quiet the world may seem
When it comes to these issues,
I will keep going.
Because awareness saves lives.
Because healing begins with visibility.
Because this is my truth,
And I won’t let it be forgotten.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I was a man who led by example.
Jimmy IV,
a voice of strength,
integrity, and positive energy.
That I lived by old-school values,
kept my word, and always showed up with a willingness to help others rise.
That I believed in lifting people’s spirits, one VIBE at a time.
That through,
The SexyCoolLounge Podcast,
I created over 130 episodes not for applause, but to inspire, to help others unlock their greatness and become the best versions of themselves.
That I made my life a reflection
of the love and energy I hoped to receive, and in doing so, left behind not just content, but connection.
And most of all,
that I lived by this truth:
“Love yourself enough
to radiate your VIBE,
and never forget,
that even though,
we DO NOT HAVE,
as much as others,
WE STILL HAVE,
more than others,
so continue to put,
good VIBES into the Universe,
so we can always,
get good VIBES back.”
Let that be the story.
Let that be the legacy!
