Today we’d like to introduce you to Yasmine Ranson.
Hi Yasmine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The story behind Blessed & Beautiful was just a girl who loved cosmetics. My family noticed my love for lashes, lipgloss, & different eyeshadow colors, so they gave me the idea that I should start my cosmetic brand. So I figured, well, why not? So I started doing my research, looking into different vendors, so I found the perfect vendor for my products. I began with lashes, but eventually, I branched out with lipgloss, which will be coming back soon & 3 eyeshadow palettes I came out with. One night I lay in bed and started figuring out my next move. That’s when God gave me the idea of women empowerment, and this business is a faith-based business where we focus on the inner beauty God has given us the scripture 1 Peter 3:3-4 is what this brand is all about. The motto we say is Work, Build, Beautify. The message behind this is to work to become a better you, build to become a story and beautify to become a queen. Right now, we are in the process of rebranding, which we are planning on launching again on my 26th birthday on May 27th; a new website & logo will be coming. I’m excited about how God is blessing this business. So be on the lookout for Blessed & Beautiful.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, especially during a pandemic; we had a significant downgrade of no sales; I also had an injury that caused me to take some months off to focus on my health and myself. Another struggle I tend to find is that everybody in a small place in Pennsylvania doesn’t support you, so you have to eventually reach out to other places through social media, traveling, and word-of-mouth. These are some struggles that I found along the way. I’m also a full-time college student, so balancing a business and being a full-time worker and a full-time college student it’s a struggle, but I’m managing to make it all work with time management.
As you know, we’re big fans of Blessed & Beautiful LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
I work for a local hospital here in Pennsylvania. I’m also was a bridal stylist for David’s Bridal. I eventually started my own wedding business, where I launched Blessed & Beautiful Weddings. I offer the services of day coordinating, Lady in waiting for bridal assistant, and personal styling. I’m currently in school for business administration. I’m known for just my good character, always laughing and always showing genuine love. I am proud of who I am in God’s eyes; it doesn’t matter how other people feel about you; you have to keep showing them that the way they think of you is wrong; you have to show them genuine respect, love, and honesty. I genuinely have blossomed. I am most proud of my brand because we focus on inner beauty, which is all about women’s empowerment. For my wedding business, I offer bridal assistance. I also offer a day of coordinator services and personal styling. You can call me the bridal godmother
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love my city. I’m always going to rep Harrisburg. We are a small town. I want to bring the notice to our black businesses, but I want to see more black businesses flourish and become greatness out of the city.
