Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosalyn Warren.
Hi Rosalyn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I began my journey in beauty at a very young age, styling the hair of family and friends. What started as a natural talent quickly became a source of independence—by the time I entered college, I was braiding full-time to fund my education and support myself.
Even then, I knew this was my calling. But it wasn’t until 2015, when I secured my first salon suite, that I made the decision to fully step into my purpose. That moment became the foundation of what is now Goddess Playhouse.
Over the past decade, I’ve intentionally invested in my craft and my education, earning the titles of Senior Cosmetologist, Trichologist, and Master Loctician. With that expertise, I’ve cultivated a brand that merges clinical-level hair care with a luxury beauty experience.
Goddess Playhouse is more than a salon—it is a refined, restorative environment where women are empowered to reclaim their confidence through education, personalized care, and results-driven services. Every detail is curated so that clients don’t just receive a service—they experience transformation.
For those navigating hair loss and scalp disorders, our work goes far beyond aesthetics. We provide solutions, support, and a sense of sisterhood—paired with high-performance, natural products that I’ve personally formulated.
At its core, Goddess Playhouse is about restoration, elevation, and intention—ensuring that every woman who enters leaves feeling confident, cared for, and completely renewed
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has absolutely not been a smooth ride—and I think that’s what makes my story so meaningful.
I didn’t come from a traditional beauty background or grow up in a salon environment. I started by doing my own hair at a very young age, and everything I’ve built since then has come from self-teaching, trial and error, and a deep commitment to mastering my craft.
Beyond the artistry, I also had to learn the business side completely on my own. I faced countless roadblocks navigating licensing, permits, and building something legitimate and sustainable from the ground up. At one point, I was in cosmetology school, working full-time, and physically building my salon at the same time—with very limited funding.
When I say I put blood, sweat, and tears into Goddess Playhouse, I truly mean that. From the floors to the finishes, I created my pink, luxury, garden-inspired space with my own hands. It wasn’t glamorous in the beginning—it was grit, long hours, and sacrifice.
Operating within the salon suite industry also comes with its own challenges. While everyone is their own boss, there’s still a level of responsibility that comes with leading a space—you’re navigating personalities, supporting other business owners, and maintaining a standard of excellence across the board.
And then there’s the reality of the economy. In an industry like beauty, your business is directly impacted by your clients’ stability. When their jobs are uncertain, so is our income—and that affects not only me, but also the entrepreneurs within my space.
Despite all of that, I’ve continued to build through some of the most unpredictable times—COVID, economic shifts, government shutdowns, and global instability.
So no, it hasn’t been easy—but I’ve remained consistent, intentional, and resilient. Every obstacle has refined me, and every challenge has strengthened the foundation of what I’ve built.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Goddess Playhouse?
Goddess Playhouse is a luxury hair care and salon suite experience centered around restoration, education, and results. I specialize in healthy hair care, loc maintenance, and trichology services, with a strong focus on treating hair loss and scalp disorders.
What sets us apart is the balance between science and luxury. As a Senior Cosmetologist, Trichologist, and Master Loctician, I don’t just style hair—I provide solutions, education, and long-term care.
Beyond services, we’re known for our elevated experience—a space where women can restore their confidence in a refined, supportive environment. I’ve also developed handmade, natural products that directly support the results we create in the salon.
What I’m most proud of is building a brand rooted in intention, resilience, and transformation. Goddess Playhouse is more than hair—it’s a space where women come to feel confident, cared for, and renewed.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
One thing people are often surprised to learn about me is that I studied pre-med biology at Howard University, which really shapes how I approach hair care today. It allows me to blend science with a nurturing, results-driven approach, especially when it comes to scalp health and restoration.
My journey into this industry also wasn’t traditional. There were seasons where I had to move with a lot of faith, quiet strength, and self-discipline, building something for myself without always having clear direction or resources.
Because of that, Goddess Playhouse was created with so much intention. It’s not just about hair—it’s about restoration, softness, and becoming whole again. I’ve poured both my knowledge and my lived experience into creating a space where women feel cared for, understood, and truly transformed.
