Inspiring Conversations with Rianka Dorsainvil of 2050 Wealth Partners

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rianka Dorsainvil.

Hi Rianka, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In college, I had no idea that financial planning was a profession. After bouncing around among a few different majors, I knew that I had a love for math and talking to people. I took one elective personal finance class and it blew my mind. That’s when I started learning about credit scores and how they are derived, disability insurance, retirement planning, and Social Security. I became so excited and went to my professor to see if I could take more classes, only to find out that there was an entire curriculum dedicated to becoming a CFP® professional.

I’m the type of person who if I learn something and I feel like it’s going to help others, I’m going to share it. Even in college, I became the go-to person on campus for financial questions and helped my classmates understand the financial implications of their actions. Since then, I decided that my generation is going to be educated when it comes to personal finance. And I know I can’t help everybody, but for those I can help, I will.

I left Corporate America in 2015 to launch my firm, Your Greatest Contribution, and then merged with my business partner and co-CEO, Lazetta Braxton, in 2020 to form 2050 Wealth Partners.

As the co-CEO and one of the Lead Financial Planners at 2050 Wealth Partners, I focus on empowering entrepreneurs and first-generation wealth builders to own their money story and pursue their biggest dreams. I believe the first-generation wealth-builders are a community that has been underserved by the financial planning profession for too long – and I am here to help change the tides.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been smooth, however, I believe with every test, there is a testimony. I started my financial planning firm with zero clients. Imposter Syndrome certainly kicked and I did not let that stop me. Within the first week of virtually opening my firm doors, I had my first client.

An omen to the good faith seeds I have been planting throughout my entire career. Then came another and another client and it’s been an amazing journey ever since. Now, being a boss does come with its challenges like growing the firm, managing people, and most importantly managing client relationships and expectations; however, I wouldn’t change my journey.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At 2050 Wealth Partners, we believe that everyone deserves access to financial planning. We are a fee-only financial planning and wealth management firm that provides trusted financial guidance to thriving professionals, small business owners, first-generation wealth-builders, and sandwich-generation wealth protectors.

Our team focuses on serving clients to help them achieve their goals, grow their wealth, and positively impact generations to come with legacy-building strategies. We believe that education, exposure to healthy money mindsets, and access to strategies unleash financial freedom and deep joy. Together with our clients, we believe that we can truly change the world – one financial plan at a time.

The themes at the core of 2050 Wealth Partners’ mission are perhaps best emphasized by its logo: The two 0’s in 2050 are interlocking yet broken chains representing freedom and liberty. The two and the five have each a piece of the semicolon, a symbol of survival and continuity, representing more greatness to come — the story is not finished.

Through working with clients, we aim to help clients design the future of their wealth stories.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I thought I was a pretty chill kid. [Insert laughing emoji].

However, I have been told I was very strong-minded and liked order. I have a three-year-old son who reminds me that maybe my dad was telling the truth about me. Ha. The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree indeed.
