Today we’d like to introduce you to Mica English.
Hi Mica, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I like to say my journey is one of perseverance and faith. I’m a newfound author, having shared a snippet of my testimony in the anthology Radiant Resilience. In my chapter, I talk about how life has been filled with challenges that could have stopped me, but instead they shaped me and prepared me for the path I’m on today.
In 2019, I made the decision to pursue my real estate license. It wasn’t easy—I failed the exam several times before finally passing. But that experience taught me that failure isn’t final; it’s simply a part of the process that builds resilience.
In 2022, I launched KME Real Estate Management. What started with managing individual residential properties has since expanded to include small apartment buildings, multi-units, and now even condominium and HOA associations. Each step has stretched me, but it has also confirmed the vision I have to serve and bring order to people’s lives through real estate.
In 2024, I earned my Broker’s License, which was another major milestone. Now, I’m focused on scaling KME Real Estate Management so I can not only grow personally and professionally, but also go back and help others do the same.
At the heart of everything, my passion is to give people hope. My greatest reward is seeing others achieve what they once thought was impossible—and knowing I had the privilege to walk alongside them in that process.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Some of the biggest struggles I’ve faced have been internal ones—like battling with a lack of confidence and truly believing I belonged in this industry. I also had to go through the process of finding my niche in real estate, which took time, trial and error, and patience.
Another struggle was expecting help and guidance from others and being disappointed when it didn’t come. I had to learn how to stand on my own two feet, trust the process, and rely on God’s timing rather than depending on others to validate or open doors for me.
On a deeper level, I had to overcome past trauma and learn how to move forward without letting old wounds define me. Through that journey, I came to understand something powerful—it is never too late to BECOME. Every setback, every delay, and every challenge became part of shaping me into the woman, entrepreneur, and leader I am today.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Yes—I believe when you’re in search of a mentor, it’s important to find someone who truly values and respects you. A good mentor is someone who sees more in you than you see in yourself, someone who is willing to pour into you without limits, and who isn’t afraid to push you beyond your comfort zone so you can grow.
I personally have two individuals I consider mentors. What has worked well for me is to glean from them—really pay attention, take notes, and then put what I’ve learned into action. For me, it’s not just about having access to them, but about implementing the wisdom and guidance they share. That’s where the real growth happens.
When it comes to networking, I’ll be honest—I’m really not the networking event type of girl. What works best for me is building authentic one-on-one connections. I focus on relationships rather than transactions. People can tell when you’re genuinely interested, and those authentic connections often open the right doors at the right time.
