Inspiring Conversations with Kendra Joseph & Jasmen Brown of Modish Mocktails

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendra Joseph & Jasmen Brown.

Hi Kendra & Jasmen, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We knew we wanted to go into business with one another, but we needed clarification on the type of business. Kendra happened to be planning a baby shower for a close friend. While planning, she noticed a need for more businesses that provided high-quality mocktail services. Kendra and I agreed we saw an opportunity and would give it a shot. From that moment, Modish Mocktails was formed.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
By the grace of God, our road has been smooth. We still have lots of room for growth, but the only challenge we’ve faced is finding a balance between working full-time, managing our household with small children, and growing a new business.

As you know, we’re big fans of Modish Mocktails. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
Modish Mocktails is a Mobile Mocktail Company dedicated to serving luxurious mocktails in the Washington Metropolitan area ( D.C, Maryland, Virginia ). What is a Mocktail? A mocktail is a non-alcoholic beverage that resembles the flavor of your favorite cocktail. Since our drinks contain zero alcohol, they are perfect for celebrating every occasion (kids’ parties, baby showers, weddings, etc.). Our business differs from other companies because we are unique. We only provide non-alcoholic beverages so everyone can enjoy our products. We differ in our customer service. We are willing to go above and beyond for every customer. Customer satisfaction and happiness is our priority. We have created that has yet to be seen in our area. We are new and growing and will only improve as time progresses.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
A few lessons we have learned thus far are the importance of being well organized and understanding the importance of legitimizing our business, managing our time better, and working well and effectively communicating with one another.
