My journey started at the intersection of high-stakes execution, community leadership, and personal restoration.
I first stepped into the public space as a blogger, speaker, and content creator under MindfullJae – working as a natural hair influencer and brand ambassador. I led and contributed to conversations on self-acceptance and navigating corporate spaces authentically—all while building a demanding career in enterprise project management. Balancing high-pressure deliverables with everyday life taught me firsthand how easily high achievers burn out when ambition lacks restorative boundaries.
That passion for mental health sparked the launch of Black Girls Who Meditate (BGWM), creating spaces where women could embrace stillness, mindfulness, and culturally grounded self-care. As my entrepreneurial path expanded, I saw that businesses and leaders also needed operational ease. That led to founding Brown’s Design & Consulting Services, where I translate enterprise PM frameworks and digital systems into sustainable roadmaps for growing brands.
Today, that full evolution converges under Hello Jenay and my work as a speaker, including recent talks for Women of Project Management and SHE Leads PM on leveraging operational skill sets into viable business pipelines. Everything I do is anchored in my signature Soft Structure framework: a flexible, mindful productivity system that provides ambitious professionals and founders with the scaffolding to execute boldly without sacrificing ease or mental well-being. Every chapter has reinforced one truth: strong systems and peace can coexist.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. My biggest hurdle so far has been balancing the demands of enterprise project management with building my own ventures. I often risk burnout while trying to excel at both and still showing up in other spaces such as friends and family, and special moments.
At the same time, transitioning from service consulting to scaling tangible products and growing an engaged wellness community meant wearing every operational hat at once. I had to learn how to build sustainable systems without depleting my energy. Navigating those friction points is what birthed my Soft Structure framework: proving you can scale businesses and communities while fiercely protecting your personal peace.
