Hello, my name is Jasmine, and I am the creator of Jasmine’s Essence, an all-natural bath and skincare brand that celebrates healing, self-care, and intentional living. My journey began with a personal struggle. For years, I dealt with acne, scarring on my chest and back, and dry skin that never seemed to improve. I tried everything from dermatologist visits to countless products and routines. Some helped a little, but none felt truly right. The ingredients often didn’t align with my values, and the results were never consistent.
Eventually, I turned to natural remedies. I began researching holistic skincare and experimenting with ingredients I could trust. Slowly, I crafted my own solutions and started seeing real results. That experience sparked something deeper—a desire to help others feel confident in their skin and empowered in their self-care. Jasmine’s Essence was born from that mission.
Since 2016, I have used only all-natural skincare, and the transformation has been both physical and emotional. I created Jasmine’s Essence to share that journey with others who want to care for their skin in a healthier and more mindful way. Self-care is more than a trend. It is a vital part of our well-being. When we care for ourselves, we nurture both our mental and physical health.
My first products included body butters, pedi bombs, bath bombs, scrubs, and soap bars. Today, the line has grown to include shower bombs, candles, wax melts, and lip balm. Each item is made with love and designed to turn everyday routines into moments of peace and restoration.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Building Jasmine’s Essence has been a beautiful journey, but it hasn’t come without its share of challenges. In the beginning, one of the hardest parts was developing the perfect recipes. I wanted each product to be gentle, effective, and made with ingredients I could stand behind. That meant a lot of trial and error, testing different combinations, and learning how each ingredient interacted with the skin. There were moments of frustration, but also moments of discovery that made it all worth it.
Another challenge was navigating outdoor shows. As a small business owner, these events are a great way to connect with customers face-to-face, but they come with unpredictable weather, long hours, and the need to transport and set up everything myself. I’ve had days where the wind knocked over my display or the heat melted my products. Still, those experiences taught me resilience and helped me build stronger connections with my community.
Promoting and marketing the brand has also been a learning curve. I’m passionate about the products and the mission behind Jasmine’s Essence, but getting that message out to the right audience takes time, creativity, and consistency. I’ve had to learn how to use social media, design content, and find my voice in a crowded market. It’s not always easy, but every step forward feels like a win.
Each challenge has helped me grow—not just as a business owner, but as a person. I’ve learned to trust the process, stay flexible, and keep showing up. Jasmine’s Essence is more than a brand. It’s a reflection of that growth, and I’m proud of how far it’s come.

In addition to retail sales, I offer customized party favors for birthdays, weddings, baby showers, and other special occasions. These personalized creations allow customers to share the joy of self-care with their guests in a meaningful way. I also sell wholesale to boutiques and wellness shops that align with my values, expanding the reach of Jasmine’s Essence while supporting other small businesses.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken with Jasmine’s Essence was opening a retail space at Painted Tree. For a full year, I had a shop there filled with my handmade products. It was exciting to see my brand come to life in a physical space, and it felt like a major step forward. I poured my energy into creating a welcoming environment where customers could experience the products in person and learn about the benefits of natural skincare.
But like many small business owners, I quickly learned that having a beautiful space is only part of the equation. Consistent sales and strong marketing are just as important, and those areas were a challenge. I was still learning how to promote the brand effectively and how to drive traffic to the shop. Some weeks were amazing, others were quiet, and over time it became clear that the shop wasn’t sustainable in that season.
Closing the Painted Tree location was a tough decision, but it taught me so much. I learned how to pivot, how to listen to my business, and how to focus on what was working. It reminded me that risk is part of growth, and even when things don’t go as planned, there is always something valuable to take away. That experience helped me refine my vision and build a stronger foundation for Jasmine’s Essence moving forward.
