Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamal Mosley
Hi Jamal, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Jamal Mosley, a native of Talladega Alabama currently a resident of Charlotte, NC. I always had a love for basketball since I was a teen. I began Coaching 5 years ago, which led me to starting my own Basketball organization In January 2023 named Elusive Elite. I started the organization for kids to not only play basketball but teaching them to be young men on and off the court. This also gave them experience and exposure as well. After my first year of coaching AAU I landed an opportunity for a JV head coaching position at a home/private school North Charlotte. In my first year I was able to lead them to a State Championship. After capturing my first State Title, it opened an opportunity where I was offered a National Coaching position with CPI (Charlotte Performance Institute) which is my current position.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No it hasn’t been a smooth road along the way I faced many challenges. That’s what makes it special when you go through what I call Growing pains. One of my challenges was funding I put all of my income and also did fundraising to pay for my uniforms, insurance, gym fees, tournament fees etc.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The definition of Elusive is difficult to find catch or achieve and also Rare. When I thought of an organization I wanted everyone to feel involved when representing the team and brand. Which everyone is elusive when we think about it we all bring something to the table and we are all rare and we bring that all together it’s Elusive can’t be duplicated. I coach and train young kids and develop them to be great young men and Basketball Players. I am known for Coaching and what sets me and my organization apart from others is that every one that me and my organization touch we will never lose touch in those young men lives not just in basketball but in life. Not to say others are not doing that I’m just stating what comes with me and Elusive that I think sets us apart from others. I am most proud about what Elusive Elite represents and teaching young men to be proud to be themselves and what ever they set their mind and goals to that they can be achieved.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
