Hi Henry Eromosele, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey into healthcare began with a deep passion for helping people feel their best, both inside and out. From a young age, I was drawn to the profound impact that genuine care could have on someone’s life. This passion led me to pursue a career in nursing, where I earned my Doctorate in Nursing Practice and dual board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, School of Nursing. Over the years, I also acquired professional certifications in Nursing & Health Professions Education, Organizational Leadership, and Care Coordination, as well as a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management.
With over eight years of clinical and leadership experience in diverse fields such as dermatology, emergency medicine, family medicine, and aesthetic medicine, I’ve gained a holistic perspective on patient care. My experience in the Medical ICU and Emergency Medicine settings taught me to approach care comprehensively—addressing not only physical symptoms but also advocating for patients’ overall well-being through evidence-based practices.
During my time in family medicine, I began to notice a concerning trend: patients of color often faced disparities in dermatological care. Traditional training and medical literature had left significant gaps in understanding how certain skin conditions present and should be managed in darker skin tones. This lack of representation sparked my interest in cosmetic dermatology, where I saw a unique opportunity to bridge these gaps. Conditions like hyperpigmentation, keloid scarring, and melasma, which are common in darker skin tones, were often misdiagnosed or inadequately treated. I wanted to change that narrative.
This vision led to the founding of LuxMode Aesthetics—a practice built on the principles of inclusivity, precision, and empowerment. My goal with LuxMode was simple: to create a space where every client feels heard, valued, and confident in their skin. My philosophy centers on enhancing natural beauty while addressing disparities in care for all skin types and tones, including Fitzpatrick IV-VI. At LuxMode, we offer personalized aesthetic solutions that restore confidence and effectively address underlying conditions. I believe in shared decision-making and evidence-based practice, supported by an in-depth understanding of facial anatomy and vascular structures, as well as the interactions of products at the tissue and molecular levels to achieve the best possible results.
However, my mission goes beyond aesthetics—it’s about advocacy and representation. I aim to empower every individual who walks through our doors to feel their best, both physically and emotionally. Whether I’m managing chronic diseases, delivering facial aesthetics, or developing customized treatment plans, I’m driven by a commitment to improving my clients’ well-being.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey to building LuxMode Aesthetics has been far from smooth, with each step presenting its unique challenges. One of the most significant hurdles was addressing disparities in dermatological care for patients with darker skin tones. Medical literature and training programs often lack the necessary visual representation and comprehensive treatment guidelines for these conditions. This gap led to misdiagnoses and a lack of trust in treatments. To bridge this divide, I invested in extensive research and specialized training to ensure that every patient who walked through our doors received the high-quality care they deserved.
Transitioning from a structured clinical environment to the unpredictable world of entrepreneurship was another challenge. As a healthcare provider, my focus was solely on patient care. However, becoming a business owner required adopting an entirely new mindset. I had to master areas like branding, marketing, finance management, and curating an exceptional client experience. Balancing patient care with business operations was a steep learning curve, and maintaining high standards in both areas was crucial to LuxMode’s success.
Moreover, as the only Black male-owned medspa in the DMV, establishing credibility in a competitive industry demanded resilience. I recognized the importance of creating a space where every client felt valued, seen, and represented. This meant breaking stereotypes, challenging biases, and proving that excellence in aesthetics is defined by skill, empathy, and commitment to results—not by gender or background.
Despite these challenges, every obstacle pushed me to grow in unexpected ways. They helped me build the foundation of LuxMode Aesthetics, solidifying my mission to provide inclusive, high-quality care that empowers people to feel confident in their own skin. Each struggle became an opportunity to drive change and set new industry standards, making the journey all the more meaningful and rewarding.
