Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Rucci.
Hi Gina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always enjoyed planning and hosting events for family and friends. When I became a mother, I really started to become super detail oriented with my daughter’s birthday parties.
I would post photos on social media which led to a few inquiring about possibly helping them with an event. When my youngest was born, I became a stay-at-home mom. I found myself longing for a creative outlet.
Eight months later, in January 2020, I launched my small business, The Party Bin. All those years of stacking away decor into bins finally came to use. With each occasion, no matter how big or small; I’d always find myself reaching into a Party Bin.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When I launched The Party Bin in January 2020, I had no clue that just two months later a pandemic was going to hit. People were staying home & no events were to be had. There was no socializing, everyone was in isolation.
For the remainder of 2020, I had to create my own social media content. I wanted people to know I was still here when things picked back up. I would stage tablescapes, post about past events I’d done, converted a cotton candy cart and continued to create adorable setups for holidays.
Towards the end of 2020 is when life as we all knew it started to restore a bit. All those months of isolation proved many were now longing for socialization. People felt they needed to make up for that lost time of not celebrating life’s milestones, birthdays, and holidays. In 2021, The Party Bin took off!
We’ve been impressed with The Party Bin, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Party Bin is an event planning service. I plan everything from birthday parties, to bridal showers, baby showers, and more.
I work within my client’s budget to create beautiful and memorable events for guests. Taking over the planning, allows the host to fully enjoy and soak in the day. Many times, a balloon garland(s) would be incorporated into my events.
I’ve gotten a lot of practice, and that particular aspect of my business has really grown. People are able to order balloon garlands, balloon mosaics, and balloon towers without having me plan a full-blown event for them.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My biggest support through launching a small business has been my husband.
99% of events happen on the weekends. There are weeks and months of planning that go into an event.
People see the finished product on social media; but, what they don’t see is hours spent searching online for the perfect party decor, daily trips to stores, reaching out to other vendors- really creating what goes into those beautiful pictures.
