Today we’d like to introduce you to Xóchitl Davila. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Seven Dreams Ceremony is a locally foraged & seasonal apothecary offering community herbal remedies at sliding scale prices or trades.
The name change happened to reflect the true purpose of this practice. Seven, a mystical number that has guided Xóchitl since infancy. Dreams, or Nahualism, is a discipline she has been a loyal student of for many years. Ceremony, for the way we should ritualize and respect the care and healing we pour into ourselves.
Xóchitl uses the Seven Dreams Ceremony as a way to highlight the powers we have as humans; the power over our joy, our creation, our health, our prosperity, and our freedom.
Many of the workshops she leads center on the premise that we create the reality we live in with what we surround our inner and outer worlds with.
Every collection is seasonal, with packaging and a name that reflects that season. Each collection is made with plants grown in that particular season; meaning the ingredients change with each season to allow our bodies to align with the natural cycles around us.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When you pride yourself on hard work, a challenge that arises is taking a break.
One of the many lessons Xóchitl continues to learn is that rest is still work; burning out can translate into practice and medicine, so taking a step back is necessary for longevity and health.
As you know, we’re big fans of the Seven Dreams Ceremony. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Remedies from the Seven Dreams Ceremony touch on both the astral and the physical, the plane we see with both eyes as well as the plane we see with one eye.
The spiritual aspect of her practice is of utmost importance because it is there where these medicines are first formed.
Xóchitl’s deep connection with Maya, Nahualism, or lucid dreaming helps her form deeper connections when crafting intuitive-led herbal wares. While she has studied with teachers, ancestors, land & plants her greatest teacher is her intuition. Through her work and workshops, she hopes to help lead others to their insightful intuition.
Every person’s true reflection is the key to ultimate healing; bridging the seen with the unseen. The key is remembering the grace, patience, forgiveness, and love for ourselves and others. It can be a daunting road, and the work is not easy or sugar-coated. However, the alchemical gold is found beneath the layers of protection we’ve built for ourselves, and she aims to help guide those to find it.
Seven Dreams Ceremony seems to be known for a few things. The first is the Ceremonial Smoke Blend; a smokable herbal pre-roll meant to cleanse the inner body, as well as to lead the user to a higher self. These herbal joints are great helpers when wanting to explore the dream world with more clarity and freedom.
Another item this practice cannot seem to make enough of is Bath Teas; a lavish blend of clays, salts, silk powder, bamboo, magnesium, herbs, flowers, and essential oils packed to the brim in a 6 oz. cotton tea bag. These Bath Teas transport the user to another plane of healing using the elements of Earth and Water.
The last item that will be highlighted is the Moon Wax; a warming luxurious massage candle with oils infused for many moon cycles with several medicinal herbs. These Moon Wax were made initially as an herbal personal lubricant, meant to help the user move past and heal from sensual/sexual trauma. They have evolved to that and much more; these Moon Wax help with:
• Inflammation
• Internal or external pain
• Manifestation & Divination work
• Grounding through warmth and touch reminds our bodies it’s safe to be aware and awake to presence, pain, and pleasure
• Providing UTI/reproductive support, cellular regeneration, removal & protection of dark parasitic energies, eradication & barriers from free radicals taken in through the environment we digest
• Metaphysical/Physical infection
She gives thanks to God, the rich knowledge from her ancestors, her friends and family, and her lessons.
