Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello Voyage Baltimore Readers,
Without going into too many details but My Name is Shamel Hazzard aka Paperchasin Mel Founder & C.E.O of Success Cartel/ The Success Spot (Founded in 2021 in Baltimore, MD) Well! To start my Story I was Born in Brooklyn New York on October 3rd of 1987. To be honest My Life started with many challenges out My Mother’s Womb, with me immediately being placed in the Foster Care System until I turned Seven Years Old. I was reunited with my Biological Family and Siblings then (9 in total) . I am the Oldest Boy of My Mother’s & Father’s Children but not the Oldest Child. I always been a BIG DREAMER in Lifesince I was Young. It came from a lot of people telling me that I couldn’t do it but I always wanted to start my own Record Label and Clothing Line because I was so into Music, Fashion, and Entertainment growing up, with me as a Child Pretending To Own Made Up Labels and Creating Songs as well. My Coming Up was a Rough but Stable One in my Childhood always being the one going to schools alone, and going through most of life’s trials alone too. I was often doubted and underestimated by Some Family and Friends on the things I set out to accomplish ahead but I never let any of it deter me from accomplishing what I set out to do in my future. I Graduated from Northwestern High School located in Baltimore, MD (Class of 2005) and I have a few vocational and College Certifications but no College Degree YET! But its definitely on the “GOALS LIST” next for me. I founded Success Cartel/The Success Spot at one of my lowest points in life while I was homeless and residing in a Men’s Shelter in Catonsville, it still couldn’t stop the hope I had for my dreams going forward. My Name (Paperchasin Mel of Success Cartel) is my Artist Name when it comes to creating music as I’m also an Rising Hip Hop Artist as well with our Current Single “BONFIRE” out now released on Multiple Platforms…. Even with me facing Multiple Challenges and Obstacles in Life, I still have high confidence and Plans to Fulfill All My Dreams and Goals Ahead. Currently in Life I own Multiple Businesses, Still Create Music and Fashion, and My Day Job I work with Cars as far as Under the Hoods for Work and Etc. I usually am and Stay Busy with multiple things and projects daily but I do also understand that all of it has a purpose and its all towards the GRAND PLANS. I just keep the Purpose in Mind as I continue towards the life I dream of ahead. In 2023 I became a Father of My First and Only Now 2 Year Old Son named Legend Lambert, today I am a Single Father who’s raising my Boy and STILL Chasing My Dreams and this SUCCESS in Life Day by Day.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I often wish it was as smooth road to Success. I faced many challenges as I said in the previous part to this. I faced Doubt and Lack of Confidence from People whom called themselves “Family” and “Friends” to Me. A lot of people in my life or were in life woukd tell you that “They are” and/or “Have Been” rooting for me and want me to Win in Life but its mostly the contrary. They Pretend to Root for me and Want Me to Win just to get what they wanted out of me or set themseleves up so when things all go right to ensure some type of benefit for them. Most think that I’m too stupid to even realize their game plan but its like I see right thru them and just keep my head high forward. I also faced a lot of Envy and Hate from People who Claim to want the best for me (Personally and Business Wise), most of the time People often reveal themselves to me but still Mad at Me for Finding out. I faced sabotage and jealousy often from lies, rumors, and gossip from people who claim to love and care about me on this long journey towards Success.

We are a Fashion Line, Music & Entertainment Business, who’s in the Process of OFFICIALLY REOPENING Again sooner than later (Since 2021) with Our NEW Fashion Selections, Our Long-Awaited Fashion Soundtrack “The Roundtable Volume One ” Collaboration Project with (Ojii Musiq Entertainment), and In the Process of REOPENING we are Working beside 2 other Major and Amazing Brands to assemble Our New Successful Style for Our Potential Consumers & Suppprters when that time comes. The (2) Exclusive Brands we are working with to produce Our New Unique and Quality Styles on the way are (IsomDiamonds Customs) Special Thanks to Our Allies there on the “Denim Fashion-Side of Things” (Whom created the Jeans in this Article) and As far as Shirts and Hats are Concerned We paired up with (Kryptonite Kryationz) to introduce a New Successful Successful Style to Our Fashion Wardrobe Shelves. (Who Created the Trucker Hats and Jar in this Article) Also Thanks to Kryptonite Kryationz! We are also slowly sliding into the “Accessory & Merch” side of things soon too. Our “Projections” on Officially REOPENING is ( Early 2027) as we are taking 2026 to prep and stock. What sets us apart is the way we do things and the type of Fashion And Music we produce and Present. On The Music Side of Things….. We currently have our 1st Single Out already at “Distrokid” and More called “BONFIRE” which is available to tune in and Stream today, in which we are in concept of Working On A Visual For ASAP but We have Our 2nd Single Coming Real Soon and NEXT from Our Long-Awaited Fashion Soundtrack (The Roundtable Volume One) called “BIG CARTEL” featuring Myself and Introducing Another Artist & Singer Tied into Our Roster named “Ukii” who I am very Excited about, and Exicted for the World to Hear her Voice and Talent as well as the Song itself. Its been a While Since we released some new Music Fashion and More I’m very excited for Everything Ahead to come out to be honest. Then on the Promotional Side of things, We have people and Ally Brands like Jess Small Business Promotions, Tony’s Talk Showcase, Iam CheriMC , Trap Life Red Arrow, and More Assisting us with Spreading Our $uccess to the World. Its gonna be a Magical & $uccessful Time soon.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I would say I learned along the way I would have to say is that “Dont Expect a lot of Support while your building your Empire or As your building it, What’s funny is that your not going to receive most of your support until you actually Make it and Win which is delusional if you ask me.
