Hi Sen, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Sen Ongoco-Velasco. I am a Filipina, a devoted wife, a proud mother of three and the eldest daughter in my family.
I started my small business in 2011, inspired by an experience I had at a friend’s party. That moment sparked an idea realizing how much joy and connection can come from creating memorable experiences for others. I saw the potential to turn that inspiration into a meaningful business venture, one that would allow me, as a single mother at the time, to balance my responsibilities while pursuing something I was passionate about. Being a people-oriented person, I valued the opportunity to interact with clients, understand their needs, and bring their visions to life. What began as a simple idea has grown into a rewarding journey filled with learning, growth, and countless successful events. Looking back, it truly was one of the best decisions I have ever made, the start of a fulfilling career and a business that continues to bring joy to others
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We did not encounter many major obstacles throughout the process. However, there were a few challenges, such as last-minute cancellations from clients due to illness or personal reasons, as well as occasional technical issues with the equipment that required troubleshooting.
Starting a business is never an easy journey, but it has been an invaluable learning experience. It has taught me the importance of effective people and client management, as well as the ability to handle and resolve technical concerns efficiently. Most importantly, it has reinforced the value of continuous learning—gaining insights from others with greater experience in the industry and applying those lessons to improve our operations and service quality.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my fondest childhood memories is the time I spent playing with my brothers and sister. We all shared a single bedroom, and although it was often lively and a little chaotic, it was also filled with laughter, stories, and a deep sense of togetherness. We didn’t have gadgets or modern distractions back then, so most of our days were spent playing outside, creating our own games, and using our imagination to make every moment enjoyable. Those simple experiences taught us the value of family, creativity, and contentment. Looking back, I realize how those moments shaped my perspective in life, reminding me that happiness doesn’t come from material things, but from the relationships we nurture and the memories we create with the people we love. It remains one of the most treasured chapters of my childhood, one that continues to inspire how I live and connect with others today
