Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Bagley.
Hi Sean, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I always enjoyed fashion. I enjoy it in its simplest forms and even its most complex forms too. I always loved dressing nicely no matter what. I was a firm believer that I rather be overdressed for any occasion than to be underdressed. My journey with fashion design started in 2020 during the pandemic. I was fond of graphic design and I was slowly perfecting my craft in that field. I then started to try and mix the design aspect with my love for fashion.
I did so here and there, but I then started designing heavily in 2022. Summer of 2022, I came up with my brand name Deity, I then started creating logos and mockups daily but I did not have a real business plan yet. March of 2023, is when I released my first product which was the “Bullet-Teeth Totebags”. That release was a success, resulting in me selling out within a week. Since then, I’ve released 4 shirts, as well as restocked the tote bag in two other colorways.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been easy. Navigating the business world has been a challenge but not impossible for me. I have a good amount of followers so promoting the brand was not necessarily a challenge for me.
Being though I am a photographer as well I do a lot of my promotions, direct my photoshoots, and do all of the marketing myself. It gets hectic sometimes but it’s a kinda chaos that I enjoy. I don’t have many struggles as far as building or maintaining the business.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My brand is Deity Clothing. We believe that everyone is creative and that creativity is a gift from the divine. Our clothing is designed to help people express their creativity and connect with their inner selves. We also believe that clothing can be a powerful tool for self-expression and spiritual growth.
We’re known for great quality clothing built to last, with completely innovative designs, as well as for a price that will not cost an arm and a leg. I am most proud of the progress made in such a short time, the first drop was only recently in March. May we held our first restock and our most recent release was in July. I would like readers to feel inspired to go down a creative path of their choice.
I also want readers to know that good quality, affordable clothing still exists.
What are your plans for the future?
I recently started upcycling pieces that I found and creating more modern fashion but with a vintage feel. I’m planning to build that up to a point where I start commissioning pieces to gain a reputation for being a fashion designer.
For Deity, I plan to do a big drop for the fall and winter. For the future, I want to just stay consistent, and continue growing the brand to eventually open a storefront, but those things will come with time.
