Today we’d like to introduce you to Reena Gray, CRNP.
Hi Reena, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been a registered nurse for about 8 years, and I’ve always had an interest in aesthetics. I didn’t like the anxiety and hustle of being a bedside nurse. I decided to take a leap of faith and start my journey at a laser spa; the rest was history. Since then, I have been able to work in plastic surgery with multiple plastic surgeons in the DMV area and learn the behind the scene details of running a medical aesthetics spa. Upon graduating in 2021, I received my Master of Science in Nursing and became a board-certified nurse practitioner. I decided this was my chance to open my practice and do things my way, the “right” way, without the politics of cooperation and micromanaging. I specialize in post-operative care, IV nutrient hydration, Botox, fillers, and medical weight loss. I have loved every moment of this journey.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to entrepreneurship is not easy, and I will tell everyone who wants to do it to have at least 30k saved to open their practice. It was expensive! Marketing and building clientele has been challenging, but your social media can help. However, that’s only 10% of the battle. You have to get out there and build relationships and constantly network, even at the grocery store!

Gray Aesthetics is a medical aesthetics spa located in Cockeysville, MD. We specialize in IV Hydration, post-operative care (for ladies/men who recently had cosmetic surgery), Botox, lip fillers, and our new medical weight loss program. What sets me apart from others is that it’s a one-woman show. I do everything from marketing, branding, cleaning, treatments, receptionists, and much more. I want the readers to know that I have several years of experience in this industry, and I take your beauty goals and turn them into reality. Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Wow! Risk-taking is scary yet rewarding. If you had told me ten years ago, I would own my own business. I would have laughed! However, entrepreneurship is a risk; there may be times when you have a full schedule, and other times you might have 1-2 clients or none. You have busy and slow seasons. However, you must stick with it, invest in yourself, and you will reap the benefits. Never give up!
