Today we’d like to introduce you to Krystal Vernee.’
Hi Krystal, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur from a very early age. My very first experience with entrepreneurship came at the age of 16. I started an eBay store that sold vintage and designer handbags. Little did I know that this was just the beginning of my entrepreneurship journey. In 2014, I started Divas & Dolls Fitness, LLC, a pole and sensual dance studio, while still working my 9-5 job. It was not an easy task; the hours were grueling, I was there 7 days per week, and I was exhausted. Despite all of this, I didn’t give up.
In 2016, I joined my first mentorship group and, shortly after, hired my first business coach, which changed my life. This mentorship group had a biannual conference, and I made it a point to show up in person. The leadership, camaraderie, and support were invaluable. I learned one of the most important lessons and keys to success in entrepreneurship during that time: the importance of being surrounded by like-minded people and coaching and mentorship. I had big goals for my business, and I wanted to be a full-time entrepreneur. I wanted the ability to have time freedom, financial freedom, and just the ability to live a life of my own. In 2021, I transitioned to full-time entrepreneurship and started 3 more businesses. One of these is my business coaching and brand strategy firm, Simply SHE, where I teach coaches, consultants, and online service providers how to monetize their expertise and create multiple income streams so that they can build profitable and sustainable businesses.
My experience and everything I went through allowed me to create a framework, The Brand BuildHER BlueprintTM, that I now teach other entrepreneurs to help them grow and scale their businesses. My entrepreneurship journey and scaling my businesses were anything but glamorous, but I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s not about the experiences we go through in life; it’s about the lessons we learn and what we do with them that ultimately matters.
Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Building my business was anything but smooth. I had many challenges along the way, including intentional sabotage by family members, lack of access to capital, and not knowing what I was doing. Sometimes, I didn’t believe things would work, and I didn’t believe in myself—one of the most challenging things to come to terms with as an entrepreneur is your mindset. If you don’t work on your mindset, nothing else will matter. Despite all the challenges I faced, I refused to give up, and I believe having a positive mindset was the key to my resilience.
Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am the CEO of Simply SHE, a coaching and consulting firm. With over 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship, I have always been passionate about empowering women and providing the support they need to transform their passion into profits. I encourage others to tap into my zone of genius through my signature coaching program, courses, podcast, and book, The Brand BuildHER BlueprintTM. I teach entrepreneurs how to monetize their expertise and create multiple streams of income so that they can build a profitable and sustainable business.
SHE offers a Done-For-You Solution and coaching for entrepreneurs who need to streamline their offers, generate more leads, and set up their backend systems. We are different from our competitors in offering a complete solution from the front to the back. We develop our client’s lead magnets and ticket offers and build their sales funnels so that they do not have to piece together advice from different service providers.
I am most proud of the results we can obtain for our clients. I am also proud of my resilience as an entrepreneur and woman. My brand, Simply SHE (Simply Slay Hard Everyday), represents excellence and women empowerment in entrepreneurship. When clients work with me, they go from being their industry’s best-kept secret to the “go-to” expert. I want to see women win! The Simply SHE Team and I are dedicated to making that happen for our clients.
What changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, there will likely be an even more significant focus on automation and artificial intelligence in businesses. As costs to do business and live rise, entrepreneurs will find new ways to fight the increases in their overhead. Unfortunately, entrepreneurs who do not embrace automation and AI may be left behind.
