Hidden Gems: Meet Helena Manu of Helena Manu Virtual Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Helena Manu.

Hi Helena, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Hey everyone! My name is Helena Manu, CEO and founder of Helena Manu Virtual Solutions, LLC (HMV Solutions), and I am so excited to share with you my Virtual Assistant entrepreneur journey! I am a Virtual Assistant who specializes in administrative tasks. I have been working in the corporate world for over 10 years, and as the pandemic made things clear that the workforce was going to look different moving forward, I decided to finally launch my business in July 2021. My husband and the birth of my two children really pushed me to get started so that I could maximize time with my family. I originally started with all the skills but no clear direction. I just knew this is something I wanted to do. Today, I am a fully booked out Virtual Assistant, and I am looking toward starting an agency in order to expand my company and help more small businesses thrive.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wouldn’t say that this journey has been a smooth one at all, but it has most definitely been worth it. One challenge that I faced along my entrepreneurial journey was imposter syndrome! I knew I had the skills, drive, and mindset, but more often than not, I felt like I did not belong in the space. I felt like the market was saturated, and I wouldn’t be able to add value. I was able to overcome it by investing in myself with more education and also an amazing business coach, Saba (@theindemandva),who has been there to support me and help me push past my fears! Another struggle that I faced was work-life balance. When I first started my business, I was so excited, but I didn’t realize that I was spending so many late nights and early mornings trying to get my business launched and off the ground. A couple of months in, once I started to get clients, I had to reevaluate my “why” of starting my business so that I didn’t lose sight of that. My goal was to give myself a second income and more time with family, not less. Using key tools such as a calendar, planner, and strategic time management helped me get back on course.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Helena Manu Virtual Solutions, LLC?
I am a Virtual Assistant who specializes in administrative tasks such as document creation, email, and calendar management, client relations, newsletter creation, website updates, and much more. I help high-level CEOs scale their business as their thought partner through administrative services. I am a back-end business pro who loves being behind the scenes! I additionally service medical providers (Doctors, Nurses, Physician Assistants, etc.) by assisting them with credentialing and contracting with medical insurances.

What sets me apart from other Virtual Assistants is my background. I think it is really beneficial that I have a longstanding background of being a Director at a Health Insurance company that allowed me to build a strong foundation for communication, collaboration, and teamwork. I am most proud of my tenacity and strong will to invest in myself through additional training and education. I am a lifelong learner, and continuing to expand my abilities is vital for me to grow my business.

I want your readers to know that I am taking on new clients for administrative services for both retainer and project based! I have a new offer coming down the pipeline called “Help in a Hurry”! It is a specialty service for small business owners who are not ready to commit to a retainer package, but they just need a little assistance with one-time tasks to get over the hump and relieve some stress of one or two tasks that are important but keep getting pushed to the back burner.
