Today we’d like to introduce you to Cidra Alabrash.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My road to the entrepreneur life came pretty unexpected. I am a 20-year-old Photographer and Real Estate Agent as well. If I went back and told my 16-year-old self that I was going to have a photography business and also be a Real Estate Agent, I would be so surprised. My photography business came a little unexpectedly. I bought a camera when I was a sophomore in high school just to capture moments with my friends. Then, I started getting requests from my peers to take their photos as well. It all started from there.
However, Real Estate came into my plan of action when I was 18. I always was interested in Real Estate and knew having a Real Estate portfolio was a great way of passive income. So, I thought it was a smart idea to become an agent to learn the home buying process while helping others get into their dream homes, sell their homes and work on their Real Estate goals as well.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a photographer, it has been a somewhat smooth road. It just takes a lot of hard work, practice, and failure in order to learn new things without any guidance. I had to learn everything on my own so it was a little discouraging and scary at first. However, once I changed my mindset to not be scared of failure, I was able to learn whatever I needed. As a Real Estate agent, the road has been somewhat bumpy. At the beginning of my journey I was not in the right environment to properly learn everything as a new agent. I also wasn’t exposed to much of the real estate world starting off. However, after changing my environment, I was able to learn so much all within just one month. I now feel confident and knowledgeable just from being around the right people.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My first business is my photography business with the name of Cidra’s Perspective. I specialize in portraits but also shoot events and couple photoshoots as well. I am most proud of my growth and the ability to help my clients feel comfortable and confident in front of my lens.
