Today we’d like to introduce you to Cherice Clark.
Hi Cherice, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Sure thing, I am originally from South Central Los Angeles. The only child of two amazing parents that instilled me in the principles I hold today. They taught me to dream and not put limits on what I want based on what society says I achieve. They taught me entrepreneurship through example as my Dad launched his business as an insurance agent
I moved to DC to attend Howard University in 1993 where I learned the power of networking and how to leverage my network to grow the MLM’s I was apart of during college. I started my first consulting company in 1998, training clients on the basics of technology a skill I learned I had working a job as a real estate assistant at a boutique firm in Georgetown. Here is where my dream of career in real estate was born.
This experience fueled my desire to become a licensed sales associate assisting homebuyers in the DC Metropolitan area to reach their goals of homeownership. I got licensed in Maryland and DC in 2002 and began working with Weichert Realtors.
I am currently the Principal Broker of Clark Premier Realty Group, a boutique brokerage owned in partnership with my husband Gregory Clark, and managed by my daughters Brittany and Briana Clark. CPRG is driven by my desire to put a dent in the wealth gap in my community.
Licensed as a broker in Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia. I have 20+ years of expertise helping clients seamlessly transfer real property. While my years of experience are critical I believe it is my passion for education resulting in several real estate designations and certifications in various arenas within real estate that play a major role in my ability to exceed the goals of my clients in every transaction.
I started Clark Premier Realty Group to fulfill my desire to coach and mentor other agents specifically new agents and those that may be struggling to get their businesses started. The foundation for my firm is agent support through education and mentorship. We equally find it important to educate the community on the benefits of leveraging real estate to build wealth. CPRG hosts several real estates and wealth-building education events for the community. As well they partner with various organizations to help meet community needs.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a tough road. I have survived several market shifts during my time as a real estate agent and starting my firm at the end of 2019 was even more challenging going into the pandemic market.
When the pandemic hit things were slow as people were fearful of what was to come and there were few resources to help a small brokerage with no employees. Our team had to build a brand to attract clients and agents on a budget of zero and no lines of credit. But we went to work doing all of the things we had done when we first got into real estate and built the CPRG brand.
As agents not much has changed, our clients know and trust us to provide exceptional service and a seamless transaction. But as a brokerage, we had to earn the trust of local agents who need to be sure we are the right place to help them grow a successful business in real estate.
But I am happy to report that we are almost through year four and have grown from a team of 3 to a team of 16 closing around 10M a year in production.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Clark Premier Realty Group?
Clark Premier Realty Group is a DC Metropolitan area boutique brokerage centrally located in Lanham, MD but minutes to DC and Virginia assisting clients in DC, MD, and VA in building wealth leveraging real estate.
We are not just agents, we are real estate strategists who possess a vast array of expertise in various areas of real estate and have a proven track record of facilitating seamless transactions that exceed client expectations. Our real estate strategists assist their clients in developing a plan to reach their real estate goals even if it’s 2 years before their planned acquisition of real property. On the critical path to decreasing the wealth gap within the surrounding community, CPRG hosts several real estate education opportunities throughout the year.
As a brokerage, we provide FULL brokerage support to each agent leveraging training, mentorship, and proven success systems. We welcome new agents or currently licensed looking to change the trajectory of their real estate business by building a solid foundation with the tools offered by our brokerage that are guaranteed to help you establish clients for life!
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
CPRG is about community. We want to help make a dent in the gaps in employment, housing, and wealth.
We have partnered with Phil & Syls Foundation to feed families in need and are always looking for volunteers for events and donations. We also host several community events some educational and others family fun days and need sponsors.
We have also partnered with Prince George’s County Public Schools by adopting two elementary schools and recently joined the Youth Apprenticeship Program to give local high school students the opportunity to not only learn real estate but to graduate with the qualifications to take the real estate license exam. We are super excited about this program because it gives us the opportunity to pour into our youth, teaching them the benefits of entrepreneurship at an early age while giving them a career opportunity that doesn’t interfere with college but can instead be done consecutively and fuel their ability to build wealth.
