Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Teeter
Hi Cameron, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
During Covid, I decided it was time for a change of career. I didn’t know yet what would inspire me but knew I was lacking a creative outlet that I needed. After stumbling upon a YouTube video showcasing a woman providing medical tattoo service, I was suddenly interested to learn more. I had no personal experience with something like that but what drew me to her story was that she was a burn victim who was looking for ways to improve her scarring and after medical professionals were unable to help, she picked up a tattoo machine and improved her scar herself. I then started researching the field to find out more and were I could train in such a field. The world of cosmetic and paramedical tattooing became my new career and my journey started in 2021. I sought out the best trainers and traveled around the US for training, opened my first studio in Athens, Georgia in 2022 then moved to Baltimore in 2023 and opened my new studio in Ellicott City same month.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting your own business is never an easy task. For a service based business, just being skilled in your service is one small part of running a successful business. Learning about marketing, branding, social media creation, digital marketing, advertising, photography, etc are all important aspects to running a successful cosmetic and medical tattoo business. My approach was slow and steady. I learned by taking classes, reading articles, watching videos, attending workshops. I allowed my passion for my new found career to motivate me to increase my business knowledge to grow and support my business.
We’ve been impressed with Glow Cosmetic Tattoo, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Glow offers cosmetic and medical tattoo services, including eyebrow and lip tattoos, scar and stretch mark camouflage, scalp micropigmentation, and 3D areola tattoos. I specialize in working with individuals who have undergone surgeries and are left with scarring or other medical complications, helping them improve the appearance of their skin. These tattoos can be incredibly healing for those affected by trauma or self-consciousness about their condition. I also support women who have had mastectomies and reconstruction, providing realistic areola and nipple tattoos. I find deep fulfillment in my work, as I’ve witnessed many people regain confidence and improve their quality of life after their treatments. Each success story motivates me to continue helping others.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I find that not alot of people are aware of the services I provide. By making my services known to be an option, I would be able to help more people. I love to collaborate and work with doctors who have patients that my benefit from my services.
