Exploring Life & Business with Vihang Dave of TheraMove & Diagnostics LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vihang Dave.

Hi Vihang, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I knew as early as my college years that I wanted to build a business with my wife—who was my girlfriend at the time. We always shared the same vision of working for ourselves, creating something meaningful together, and having the freedom to shape our own path. That idea stayed with us as we worked hard, learned the profession, and gained experience over the next 15 years.

My professional journey began in Southern Illinois, where I started practicing as a physical therapist and developed a strong clinical foundation. From there, I moved to New York City, where I spent nearly a decade working in a fast-paced, high-demand healthcare environment. Practicing in different regions and settings exposed me to a wide variety of patient populations, complex cases, and healthcare systems, which significantly shaped how I think about patient care and efficiency.

Eventually, my wife, Neelu, and I decided to move to Towson, Maryland, with the goal of putting down roots and giving back to a community we could truly serve long-term. I wanted to bring the years of experience, perspective, and lessons I had gained from across the country and apply them locally. More importantly, I wanted to do things differently—to step outside the traditional physical therapy model and create an “out-of-the-box” approach focused on faster answers, better communication, and truly individualized care.

That vision led to the creation of TheraMove & Diagnostics, where we aim to combine advanced diagnostics with hands-on physical therapy to reduce delays, improve outcomes, and empower patients to understand their bodies. What started as a shared dream during our college years has grown into a mission-driven practice rooted in innovation, service, and community impact—and we’re just getting started.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road. Building a business came with a steep learning curve, especially shifting from an employee mindset to a true business-owner mindset. Clinical skills alone are not enough—you have to learn operations, finances, leadership, and decision-making, often through real-world experience rather than textbooks.

Along the way, we’ve encountered a wide range of people and experiences—some positive, some challenging—but each played a role in shaping how we lead and operate today. Some individuals were only a small part of our journey, but every experience taught us something valuable. In some cases, we learned what to do; in others, we learned what not to do. Those lessons were just as important.

We are still learning every day, adapting, refining our systems, and growing as leaders. The challenges tested us, but they also shaped us, strengthened our vision, and helped us build a more resilient and intentional business.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The name of my business is TheraMove & Diagnostics LLC. TheraMove & Diagnostics LLC is a patient-centered physical therapy and diagnostics practice based in Towson, Maryland, serving patients throughout the greater Baltimore area. We are a patient-centered physical therapy and diagnostics practice serving the Towson and greater Baltimore community, with a strong focus on combining high-quality rehabilitation care with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies.

What sets TheraMove & Diagnostics apart is our integrated and “out-of-the-box” approach to care. In addition to traditional physical therapy, we specialize in advanced diagnostics such as EMG/NCV testing and musculoskeletal ultrasound, allowing us to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients more efficiently under one roof. This allows patients who are searching for timely EMG testing in the Towson and Baltimore area to receive accurate answers without long delays or unnecessary referrals. This model helps reduce delays in care, minimizes unnecessary referrals, and provides clearer answers for both patients and referring providers.

We also incorporate advanced treatment modalities such as laser therapy and shockwave therapy as part of comprehensive, individualized care plans. These technologies are especially effective for managing chronic pain, tendon and soft-tissue injuries, inflammation, and conditions that have not responded well to conventional treatments. By integrating these therapies with skilled hands-on care and exercise-based rehabilitation, we are able to support tissue healing, reduce pain, and accelerate recovery.

We are known for working with complex and chronic conditions, orthopedic injuries, neurological disorders, post-surgical cases, and patients who have struggled to find lasting relief through traditional treatment models. Our approach is evidence-based, highly personalized, and focused on identifying and addressing the root cause of pain and dysfunction—not just managing symptoms.

Many of our patients find us while looking for high-quality physical therapy close to home and appreciate having both rehabilitation and diagnostics in one location. Brand-wise, what I am most proud of is the trust we have built within the community. TheraMove & Diagnostics is rooted in education, transparency, and accountability. We take the time to explain diagnoses, treatment plans, and expectations so patients feel informed, confident, and actively involved in their care. Our goal is not just short-term symptom relief, but long-term outcomes, prevention, and improved quality of life.

I want readers to know that TheraMove & Diagnostics was built with intention—to raise the standard of care, improve access to advanced diagnostics and therapies, and create a practice where patients are truly heard. We continue to evolve, learn, and invest in innovation so we can better serve our community and deliver care that is both compassionate and effective. For patients, this means fewer appointments, faster answers, and a clearer path forward.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Collaboration and community are very important to us. People can work with us in several ways—whether as patients, referring providers, community partners, or collaborators who share a similar mission of improving access to high-quality, ethical care. We regularly work with individuals and providers seeking physical therapy in Towson as well as advanced diagnostic services such as EMG testing.

We actively collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, specialists, attorneys, and other healthcare professionals who value clear communication, timely diagnostics, and patient-centered decision-making. We also welcome opportunities to partner with local businesses, community organizations, senior living facilities, and wellness groups to provide education, screenings, and outreach programs.

For individuals looking to support us, the simplest and most meaningful ways are by spreading the word, sharing their experience, and helping connect us with others who may benefit from our services. We believe strong relationships and open communication are what truly drive better outcomes, and we’re always open to thoughtful collaborations that create value for both patients and the community.

Anyone interested in collaborating or learning more is always welcome to reach out—we value relationships built on trust, shared values, and a genuine desire to help people move and live better.
