Safia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hello everyone, my name is Safia and I come from a town known as Mirpur, Azad Kashmir in Pakistan. I moved to America at a very young age and my story started when I was just 11 years old. I got really into henna from a young age and really loved creating designs. I had a love for creativity and details. I would always do henna on my sisters and ruin their arms but you know what they say, practice makes perfect! And now 8 years later I am a bridal henna artist who travels in the DMV area. My designs are very appreciated by those who like details just like I do. I have clients come to me from far away just because they love the details of my design. And I will share some pictures of these gorgeous henna designs as well. I hope to grow as a small business and help more brides feel beautiful on their big day!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road there are times I don’t get clients for months and then times when clients start coming left and right. The worst part is the back pain haha, but hey every job has its pros and cons and this is just one that comes with mine. Also being a college student while owning a small business is definitely not easy! It takes a special kind of dedication to juggle everything at once. But despite all of the hiccups, I love what I do. And, Alhamdulillah my success is only due to Allah.

I am known as safias.henna on instagram and tiktok, the easiest way to reach out to me is through instagram. I specialize in bridal and party henna and the level of details in my designs set me apart from others. My clients praise me for my professionalism and the patience I have to create these designs. I am most proud of the fact that my clients never have a bad thing to say about me or my services. I go into depth with everything and have lots of conversations with my clients which makes them very comfortable with me!
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is a clean bridal henna, a professional demeanor and a good sense of humor! I value these things because providing my clients with my best work makes them feel beautiful and that makes me feel so happy! I would rather be professional and take my time than rush and make mistakes.
