Today we’d like to introduce you to Nuri Muhammad.
Nuri, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
At the time of my previous article, I could not share the exciting news that I was going to be a contestant on Season 2 of Gordon ‘Ramsey’s Next Level Chef. The show premiered on February 12, 2023, on Fox after the Superbowl and received 15.5 million viewers. The Season airs every Thursday night at 8 pm on Fox, and if you miss it, you can check me out on Hulu the following day.
On the first episode, I was won best dish on my team and was awarded an immunity pin. The second show, judges gave me praise for the Mahi Mahi dish I prepared. I also won best dish on the third episode. Be sure to tune it to see me continue to compete in this competition, but so far, I am off to a great start.
Since the Voyager’s first article, I have had the pleasure of cooking on a Live 1-hour Lion Lunch Hour on Fox 5 Good Day DC whose show was cohosted by Devale Ellis who stars on Zatima and his beautiful wife Khadeen. I have also been featured on WTOP radio station, as well as been a guest motivational speaker at Barack Obama Elementary Magnet School of Technology to speak with students about the culinary arts field. Additionally, I will be judging a Culinary Competition for Prince George’s County Community College Culinary Arts students and providing them with some inspiration.
I also had my first child born, Nori Reign; she is a beautiful inspiration to my life. Being the best father that I can be to and for her gives me great joy.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The cooking competition is very intense with lots of highs and lows. However, it has thus far been the greatest experience of my life. Another struggle is generating sufficient financial resources to develop products to go to market. As such, I am seeking corporate sponsorships and partnerships. This is all surreal, and I am learning how to take a moment of gratitude and enjoy the ride.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I own and operate a Personal Chef and Event catering service, Chef Stretch Kitchen, LLC. We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I believe when hard work, preparation, and focus meet opportunity, then you can achieve your dreams. It is important to believe in yourself and apply yourself to your passion daily. It’s a grind, and some days will be harder than others but is well worth the effort. Staying true to your authentic self and staying on task with your brand in how you move and represent yourself is equally important. Lastly, having a supportive team around you that can provide good council and advice is critical to your success. We don’t do this alone, so developing those relationships and maintaining them in positivity helps fans and supporters want to back you.
