Hi Kaylena, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Three years into being a NICU Nurse the pandemic happened. I was offered the opportunity to train under the woman who did my lashes during that time. At first, I was against it, the thought of touching someone’s eyes scared me. I figured that there were already so many lash artists, what good would it do for me to learn? I sought advice from my mom and dad, they pushed me to go for it, there’s nothing to lose by trying.
My parents have always been very supportive of my dreams. I’ve always been creative and loved art. I trained with my lash educator for about 1.5 years, before trying to start my own business. My father passed away in 2021, it was devastating, to say the least. My father was an entrepreneur and gave me so much support with my dreams.
I opened my suite in August of 2021. I have been running my business since and I have just passed the esthetics exam. I currently offer services that include lash extensions, laminations, waxes, facials, makeup services, etc.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Losing my father was the most devastating thing that has happened since I’ve been on my journey.
He was such a loving father and gave me so much support. Grief is hard to digest, no one tells you it’s more circular than linear and that losing yourself in the midst of it is so easy.

My business specializes in lash extensions. My main purpose as a business owner is to take care of my clients and make them feel good about what they came to get serviced. I do not rush my services, I take my time and perform my services with care.
I love to educate my clients about their lashes and skin. I am most proud of being able to cater to a diverse clientele. I’d like for the readers to know that my door is always open and that I am here to support them in their lash and facial care journey.
