Exploring Life & Business with Jannie Kim of Bloom Med-Aesthetics Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jannie Kim.

Hi Jannie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began my career in critical care nursing, but I’ve always had a passion for beauty, detail, and helping people feel confident in their own skin. After earning my master’s degree and becoming a Nurse Practitioner, I spent the past four years practicing Internal Medicine. Aesthetics had always been in the back of my mind, but it wasn’t until I saw how transformative subtle, thoughtful treatments could be that I decided to fully dive in.

I invested heavily—financially, emotionally, and academically—into training, certifications, and hands-on education so I could build a foundation rooted in safety and artistry rather than rushing into the industry.

The transition wasn’t glamorous. I started from scratch, often feeling like I was learning the ropes alone. I poured my savings into trainings, products, and building a space I was proud of, even when the numbers didn’t make sense yet. But every patient who trusted me, every small win, and every treatment that left someone feeling more at home in their own face made it worth it.

Over time, I found my own approach: prioritizing natural, balanced, youthful results and educating clients so they feel empowered, not overwhelmed. I built my studio slowly and intentionally, focusing on personalized care and cultivating an environment where clients feel understood and seen.

Today, I’m proud of how far I’ve come—serving my community, continuing advanced education, and growing a business that reflects my values. My journey is still unfolding, but I’m grateful for every step that brought me here. My goal has always been the same: to blend science, artistry, and empathy to help people feel like their most confident version of their selves.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not smooth at all—but worth every bump. I started this journey with no handouts and no shortcuts. I invested everything I had, trained relentlessly, and built my business from scratch. There were financial stressors, burnout moments, and times where I felt like I was moving too slow. But every time I hit that wall, I’d ask myself, “If I keep giving it 110%, where will this take me in a year?” That question kept me moving forward, even when the progress felt invisible.

We’ve been impressed with Bloom Med-Aesthetics Studio, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is built around one core belief: subtle, thoughtful aesthetics will always age better than trends. I specialize in injectables such as neurotoxins like botox, dermal fillers and skin enhancements —treatments that highlight someone’s existing beauty rather than change their face.

I focus heavily on facial balancing/ rejuvenation, and skin treatments that prioritize youthfulness, structure, and long-term skin health.

What truly sets my brand apart is the level of intention behind every appointment. I never rush treatments, I never over-inject, and I’m honest about what someone does or doesn’t need. My goal isn’t to sell a syringe—it’s to build trust, educate clients, and create results that look beautiful in real life, not just in photos.

I’m most proud of creating a space that feels safe, welcoming, and personal. Clients often tell me they feel genuinely cared for, heard, and understood—and that means everything to me.

My brand is rooted in transparency, education, and artistry. I want readers to know that my approach is holistic: we don’t chase perfection; we enhance what you already have so you still look like you, just enhanced and reconnected to your own beauty.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories goes back to when I was about eight years old growing up in the Philippines. While kids here might set up a lemonade stand, I had my own version of it—a little “turon stand.” Turon is a Filipino snack made of plantains wrapped in spring roll wrappers, and I remember breaking open my piggy bank, taking every bit of savings I had, and going to our local market to buy ingredients with my childhood bestfriend who also contributed her savings.

We spent the whole day making turon and selling them around the neighborhood. It was simple, but it made me feel so proud—like I had built something of my own. Looking back, that tiny stand was the start of my love for business and entrepreneurship. It taught me early on that with creativity, effort, and heart, you can create something meaningful from almost nothing
