Exploring Life & Business with Freddie Lee of F. Lee Global Leadership Solutions LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Freddie Lee.

Hi Freddie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am His Excellency (H.E.) Dr. Freddie A. Lee, a retired U.S. Army Officer and Defense Contractor, former High School Administrator, and a WOLMI United Nations Peace Ambassador. I have dedicated my life to service, leadership, and global impact. A graduate of Winston-Salem State University with a B.A. in Business Administration, I was commissioned as a U.S. Army 2nd Lieutenant through the ROTC program at Wake Forest University, where I earned recognition as a Distinguished Military Student and Distinguished Military Graduate. My military career laid the foundation for decades of leadership—spanning education administration at Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore, defense systems acquisition as a Department of the Army contractor, and advanced studies with a Master of Military Art and Science from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. Appointed as a United Nations Peace Ambassador through Word of Life Ministries International (WOLMI), I work to advance the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education. As a member of WOLMI’s International Consulting Committee, I get to collaborate with global stakeholders to foster inclusive dialogue, expand educational access, and combat poverty. Leveraging my ambassadorial role, I can connect with NGOs, humanitarian organizations, and global forums to synergize peace-building initiatives through education and cross-cultural leadership. I am a Maxwell Leadership Certified professional and recipient of an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities from Trinity International University of Ambassadors, I have merged decades of experience with cutting-edge leadership strategies. My company, F. Lee Global Leadership Solutions LLC, empowers corporations, governments, and educators to become transformational leaders who bridge divides through human-centered soft skills—turning empathy, dialogue, and collaboration into tools for sustainable peace.
I am also an active member of the Prince Hall Freemasons and the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Kentucky, where we believe in brotherhood, charity, and having a lasting positive impact through community service. From mentoring at-risk youth to supporting disaster relief and equitable healthcare, I have been a champion of community uplift as the cornerstone of societal progress.
With 45+ years of leadership across military, education, and humanitarian sectors, my purpose in life is clear: “Soft skills are the missing infrastructure for peace.” Through my company and partnerships like Dr. Theresa A. Moseley’s TAM Creating Ambassadors of Peace LLC, I continue to forge a world where leaders address root causes of conflict—inequity, distrust, and polarization—to build resilient, inclusive communities. “Leadership is not about being in charge. It’s about taking care of those in your charge.” Let’s build better leaders—together. If you take care of your people, they will take care of you!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Growing up in the segregated South I faced systemic inequities, limited resources, racial prejudice, and societal expectations that could have stifled ambition. I was able to defy these constraints, excelling academically and earning a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during an era when Black officers often confronted institutional bias. As a career Army officer, I balanced the pressures of command with the unspoken weight of representation—mentoring peers while navigating a historically homogeneous institution.
My work at Saint Frances Academy demanded addressing systemic gaps in education for at-risk students, who are often marginalized and left behind.
My 20-year Defense Acquisition career required mastering bureaucratic complexities where minority leaders were (and remain) underrepresented.
As a UN Peace Ambassador and a humanitarian advocate on a global stage, I am faced with the inertia of international diplomacy, where progress on poverty, education, and peace are often slowed by politics. It means persuading fractured systems to collaborate for a common goal.
Launching F. Lee Global Leadership Solutions LLC as a senior leader means competing in a field dominated by entrenched institutions. My mission to redefine leadership through “soft skills as peace infrastructure” challenges conventional corporate perceptions of leadership development.
