Today we’d like to introduce you to Christin Knight.
Hi Christin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I spent nearly 20 years in the high-stakes world of corporate sales, leadership, and strategy. I loved the fast-paced environment and the thrill of a big win, but deep down, I’d been waiting my entire life to build something of my own. I’ve always found peace in nature—flowers, plants, and trees are more than just decor to me; they are a visual representation of new seasons and a way to bring fresh air and energy into any room.
The shift began during the global pandemic. Like so many others, I finally had the chance to slow down and listen to my creative heart. I became obsessed with the HBO Max series Full Bloom, and the idea for a floral studio started taking root in my mind. One night, over wine and charcuterie with my girlfriends, that spark turned into a fire. I came home that evening, purchased the domain, and launched the website. Blooming Blossoms was officially born.
Initially, it was a side hustle—a way to marry my ardent quest to help others grow with my love for beautiful design. In June 2023, I took the leap of faith, left the corporate world behind, and made Blooming Blossoms my main hustle.
Once we started saying “yes” to weddings, the business experienced massive growth. It was a whirlwind of beauty and strategy! That momentum eventually brought us to our biggest milestone yet: in September 2025, we opened the doors to our very first brick-and-mortar location.
Opening this studio has brought my journey full circle. I’ve gone from managing sales strategies to teaching the basics of floral care and design to my neighbors. My mission is to show people from every facet of our city that they can create something beautiful with their own hands. Life is truly what you make it—so why not make it beautiful?
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’d love to say it’s been all sunshine and peonies, but like any true growth story, there have been some learning curves! While the road has been mostly smooth, the transition from a corporate environment—where you have dedicated departments for everything—to being a “solopreneur” was a major reality check.
Early on, the biggest challenge was simply wearing every hat at once. On any given Tuesday, I am the HR Director, the Head of Sales, the Lead Florist, the Marketing Strategist, and the Accountant. There were many days where I felt like I was racing against the clock, trying to find just one more hour to get everything done!
I also had to quickly master the art of small business cash flow. In the corporate world, you understand the numbers, but when it’s your own capital on the line, every stem and every invoice matters. It was a steep learning curve, but my 20 years in sales strategy gave me the toolkit I needed to adapt and keep us flourishing.
Even opening our brick-and-mortar location in September 2025 brought its own set of creative opportunities. Our studio isn’t in a high-foot-traffic area, so we couldn’t just sit back and wait for people to walk through the door. We’ve had to get incredibly innovative with our marketing, leveraging social media and community partnerships to make our studio a destination rather than just a shop. It’s been a lesson in resilience, but seeing the room fill up for a workshop makes every speedbump entirely worth it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At its heart, Blooming Blossoms is a floral wedding and experience studio. We specialize in three distinct areas: high-end wedding and event decor, experiential floral events for corporate team-building or showers, and our signature floral design workshops.
What truly sets us apart is our customer-centric lens. Coming from a corporate background, I’ve instilled a culture of transparency and education that is quite rare in the floral industry. We don’t just deliver bouquets; we build partnerships. We listen deeply to our clients’ visions and execute at the highest level to ensure a “WOW” moment every single time. Our five-star reviews are our most prized possession—they represent the trust our community has placed in our team.
On the wedding side, I am incredibly proud of our track record. We completed over 80 weddings in our first two and a half years! In the wedding industry, that kind of volume and growth is almost unheard of for a new business. It speaks volumes about our team’s ability to not only design beautiful concepts but to execute them flawlessly under pressure.
For those looking for a more hands-on experience, our studio workshops are what we’re becoming famous for. Think of it like a “paint and sip” but with premium, fresh stems! For 90 minutes, I lead guests through a design class where they learn to build their own stunning arrangements. It’s a beautiful phenomenon—everyone starts with the same flowers, yet every single person walks away with a unique masterpiece.
I want readers to know that our workshops aren’t just a class; they are a 90-minute escape. It’s calm, it’s educational, and it’s deeply relaxing. Whether we are designing a grand ballroom wedding or teaching a neighbor how to care for their hydrangeas, we bring the same level of passion and excellence to every petal.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Success is never a solo act, and I have a wonderful village that has been instrumental in getting Blooming Blossoms to where it is today.
First and foremost, my husband and my parents have been my rock-solid foundation. Moving from a stable corporate career to the world of entrepreneurship is a massive leap, and their unwavering belief in my vision gave me the courage to jump. They’ve been my loudest cheerleaders and my most trusted advisors.
On the professional side, I owe a great deal to my favorite former boss, Steve. During my corporate years, Steve taught me the ‘soul’ of leadership. He showed me how to master a P&L and run a tight business, but more importantly, he taught me how to deeply care for a team as individuals. He modeled a leadership style that prioritized people, and I’ve carried those lessons into how I manage my own team and serve our clients today.
Every mentor I’ve had along the way helped inform the leader and entrepreneur I’ve become. I’m proud to lead a business that is built on both strategic excellence and genuine human connection.
