Daily Inspiration: Meet Tokunbo Ashorobi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tokunbo Ashorobi.

Hi Tokunbo, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I worked for a company that had this awesome wellness program and I redeemed my points for an Amazon gift card and I just thought to myself that I should buy some baking supplies because I was bored and that was all she wrote. This was in 2017

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Is any journey smooth? I encountered many struggles whether it was imposter syndrome, comparing myself to the next cake artist or struggling with my pricing. I’ve been through it all and I appreciate the challenges so much because it made me the cake artist I am today. I’ve learned so much along the way and I’m still learning.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am cake artist specializing in bespoke wedding and celebration cakes. I’m known for my tall gorgeous cakes!

I’m so proud of how far I’ve come and proud of taking on all the challenges that have come my way instead of allowing fear to guide me.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I think understanding that it was ok to be ME! God created me to be me and He gave me my own set of skills to be unique and standout. There’s so much on the inside of me and how can I shine bright if I look like the next person. I’m THAT girl!
