Daily Inspiration: Meet Raginald Paz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raginald Paz.

Hi Raginald, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Cooking has always been my family’s forte. I’ve watched my parents make different dishes growing up, and I remember being fascinated watching them through the process. That is where I believe my passion for food stemmed from, so I became a “foodie” and started documenting my journey on my Instagram account (@raginaldpaz). I do enjoy traveling around the country and the world. What I look forward to the most when traveling is being able to try the food from different places. I do not have any specific preference for taste, so I eat pretty much anything and everything. I love the variety of food we can choose from. I alternate between Italian to Chinese cuisine, from spicy to sweet, seafood to meat, and the list goes on. I enjoy eating food from different cultures and countries. It amazes me how we have endless choices on what to eat for lunch, dessert, or dinner. Part of my food advocacy is to support restaurant businesses by trying their food and posting about them on my Instagram handle for my followers’ awareness. I get messages from my followers regarding the food I am posting about and even get commendation for posting about them since it gives them ideas. My goal is to expand my food horizon and someday be able to travel all over the world to try exotic food.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This passion came naturally, considering that I already have a great love for food and enjoy the process of making them. It was never my intention to document this journey until I realized that I should be sharing this through my social media accounts to give others ideas which turned out well as my followers became more engaged when I shared my “food trying” journey. They regularly follow my stories and ask questions about my thoughts about the food, which they find very helpful, so I consider this a smooth sailing journey. This became part of my routine as I tried food from different places.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a proud professional during the day as an IT Consultant. My job involves working with different healthcare clients from all over the country with their system implementation, which is conducive to my passion for trying different food as I travel to different states and cities regularly. I specifically support Healthcare systems, and I am proud to say that I have been a part of several successful system implementations for over 10 years. It is a blessing that I do what I love with the bonus of continuing my passion for food by going to more places and having access to a wider variety.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I give credit to my parents, who supported my choices all the way through. They helped me through college and supported my choice of doing what I do now. I had some difficult times, but they were sure to be by my side to encourage me to never give up and keep going. I can honestly say that I would not be where I am today if it was not for them.
