Daily Inspiration: Meet Nadira France

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadira France.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve enjoyed singing for as long as I can remember. When I got to middle school, I learned how to read music, started writing my own songs and gained my first experience in a recording studio. I went on to attend a performing arts high school in for a vocal music program at Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts. It was in high school where I strengthened my musical sight reading skills and I also began to study and perform other genres of music including jazz, classical and barbershop music. I was becoming a very skilled singer in each of those genres. I then attended Morgan State University for a Bachelors Degree in Vocal music. It was at Morgan State where I became an even better musician through my studies and traveled the world singing with the Morgan State University Singers’ Choir. I also began to study as an operatic soprano under the vocal tutelage of my then vocal instructor, Marquita Lister. After graduating from Morgan State University in 2017, I was divinely aligned with an incredible musician and producer who is now my significant other, James Ramsey Jr. James and I collaborated in the recording studio and released music on streaming platforms. We started a band together in 2023 called “No Rehearsal.” No Rehearsal has crafted a unique sound based on creating soulful music in real time. We enjoy playing original music, Neo soul, jazz, house and rnb.We have amazing chemistry and are able to enhance the sound of each musician on stage. Our band is comprised of 5 master musicians playing keys, drums, bass, guitar and singing vocals. We have performed on various stages from speak easies, to Horsehoe Casino to Keystone Korner and private social clubs throughout the DMV. We were nominated Charm City’s Best Band and have visions to expand to audiences nationwide and world wide.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey has been incredible so far. The biggest change I had to adjust to was becoming a mother to my lovely daughter. The blessing in this was the inspiration she gave me to continue going toward what I love to do and also the support of her loving father James Ramsey Jr. We have navigated being partners and parents together while simultaneously performing and making music together.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a multi genre singer, song writer and vocal arranger. I specialize in singing and anyone that knows me knows that I sing and that it’s what I love to do. I am so proud of actually forming my band No Rehearsal, and performing: it’s been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. I think what sets me apart is my musicality in singing since I’ve strengthened my skills as both a contemporary and operatic singer. Sometimes I’m able to mix the genres when I’m singing and it’s so much fun,

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe my personality produces
my own luck. I believe in vibrating on a high frequency and that when you put effort and belief in yourself behind what you can do, opportunities will gravitate toward you. You have to allow yourself to be ready. You also have to put yourself out there.
