Today we’d like to introduce you to Micaela Irvin.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey hasn’t been a straight line — it’s been one of curiosity, resilience, and purpose. I started out pre-med, drawn to science and the idea of helping others heal. But life took me on a different path when I moved to Costa Rica to work in animal rehabilitation. That experience reminded me how interconnected compassion, care, and nature truly are.
Not long after, I faced my own health challenge — a seven-year battle with Lyme disease — all while pursuing my ABSN and later my APRN. That chapter taught me more about empathy, perseverance, and the patient experience than any classroom ever could. It shaped the way I approach medicine today. I could go into more depth about this and am happy to if you feel i should. It took 7 months to get my formal diagnosis where i was bounced around and ultimately gaslit much of the time. During that time, art became an outlet and medicine a lifeline. Today, my boutique aesthetics practice is rooted in the connection between body, mind and healing, where the intersection of art, medicine and authenticity comes together.
Ultimately, those experiences led me to aesthetic medicine — a field that lets me combine science, artistry, and the core of who i am. Through Cosmic Aesthetics, I’ve been able to create a space focused on empowerment, self-expression, and holistic well-being. Every step, even the hard ones, has brought me exactly where I’m meant to be.”experienced her seven-year battle with lyme disease, art became an outlet and medicine a lifeline. Today, her boutique aesthetics practice is rooted in the connection between body, mind and healing, where the intersection of art, medicine and authenticity comes together.
My story began with a deep curiosity about both science and art — two passions that eventually came together in aesthetic medicine. Early in my career, I worked in a traditional medical setting in dermatology, where I developed a strong foundation in patient care and anatomy. Over time, I realized that I was most fulfilled when helping people feel confident in their own skin — not by changing who they are, but by enhancing what makes them unique.
That realization led me to aesthetics and ultimately to founding Cosmic Aesthetics. It’s been a journey of continuous learning, mentorship, and growth — blending evidence-based medicine with an artistic eye. Along the way, I’ve built not only a practice but a community — a space where patients feel seen, valued, and empowered. Every milestone, from opening my own doors to mentoring others in the field, has reinforced why I started: to make people feel more like themselves.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
i think my previous answer covered this a lot.
Ultimately, every obstacle led me to aesthetic medicine — a space where I could blend science, artistry, and empathy. Through Cosmic Aesthetics, I’ve created more than a practice; it’s a community built on empowerment, authenticity, and holistic well-being. Looking back, every ‘no’ was really just redirection toward my purpose.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At Cosmic Aesthetics, artistry is at the heart of everything I do. First and foremost, I see myself as an artist — blending precision medicine with the soul of art to create results that are natural, elevated, and deeply personal. I specialize in full face harmonization, a comprehensive, art-meets-science approach in aesthetic medicine that focuses on enhancing balance, proportion, and symmetry across the entire face — rather than treating isolated features.
Every treatment is a collaboration, designed not to change who you are but to refine and bring about what makes you uniquely YOU.
I approach each face as a unique canvas — one that tells its own story. My goal is to help every patient feel aligned, confident, and the best version of themselves.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
When I first started, I was eager to master every technique — but I’ve learned that true mastery comes from slowing down, observing, and really seeing the person in front of you. My biggest advice is to approach aesthetics as both an art and a responsibility. It’s not about chasing trends or perfection; it’s about understanding anatomy, intention, and individuality.
Invest in your education, but even more importantly, invest in your eye. Study faces, balance, and proportion — not just injectables. Surround yourself with mentors who value integrity over volume and who remind you that your hands can change not just appearances, but confidence and self-perception.
I wish I had known early on that confidence in this field doesn’t come from doing everything — it comes from knowing your “why” and staying rooted in it. For me, that “why” has always been creating harmony — not just on the surface, but in how my patients feel about themselves.
