Today we’d like to introduce you to Kylie Kraft.
Hi Kylie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I launched Pilates Blondie on July 7th, 2024, but had been working on it behind the scenes starting back in December of 2023. I had recently moved to Nashville, TN and was trying out new workout classes in the area in an attempt to meet new friends and branch out from the commercial gym life that I had been in for the last 10+ years. I found a boutique, reformer Pilates studio and instantly fell in love. However, what I didn’t know was that grip socks were required. So, I purchased the grip socks (which were very cute may I add), and completed my first class. When the class was over, I was already excited to book my next one, but I quickly realized that one pair of socks wasn’t enough for the frequency I was going. I didn’t want to purchase several pairs from the studio because of the markup, but when I searched for cute Pilates socks online, none of them peaked my interest and so, Pilates Blondie was born. Cute, high quality grip socks, at a standard price!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Yes and no. I design all of the socks myself and as someone with zero design background, I found it tricky to bring my vision to life as clear and accurately as I was envisioning it in my head. I’m also the type of person to like something one week and then hate it the next, so I really had to marinate on my designs before actually putting them through production. Then, when I did finally purchase inventory, the first batch came out terribly wrong and I refused to put them out, so I had to find a different manufacturer and start from scratch. I also work a full time, corporate job as an Influencer Marketing Manager, so dedicating the proper amount of time to marketing Pilates Blondie has been a challenge. I know how to do it, it’s just finding the time. Overall, I still love doing it and my first launch was a huge success. I sold out 2 out of the 4 designs and have my socks in a few different Pilates studios!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work full time for a digital marketing Agency as an Influencer Marketing Manager, which I absolutely love. That’s obviously my main source of income, so it always come first. However, I’ve always had a very entrepreneurial mindset, so it was a given that I would start my own side hustle at some point. I’m known for being very Type A, like the most extreme of the extreme Type A, which means I’m extremely organized, punctual, and thorough in everything I do. I’m super proud of what I’ve accomplished in my career so far at only age 27, and my goal for 2025 is to allocate more time to scaling Pilates Blondie. I love working and having multiple streams of income, and I take a lot of pride in my work ethic.
What makes you happy?
I’m pretty blessed to say that I’m a very happy person. It hasn’t always been this way, but I’ve learned over the years to create your own happiness rather than seeking it from others. Do things that you love and that will fill your cup, and happiness will follow. For me, spending time at home with my husband and our 4 cats, cooking, going to the beach, and doing Pilates brings me happiness. It’s simple stuff, but it never fails.
