Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Stokes.
Hi Josh, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am an artist born into a family of artists, and extremely intelligent, creative, beautiful people. I was born with the gift of music and began exhibiting signs at the age of two. I have always had the passion, and fearlessness to pursue life as an Artist/Musician. That spirit lead me to people, and places, and created opportunities for me to excel.
I have always been focused on becoming the best I can be. Not better than anyone else. This is an individual race. I want to be myself and be the best example I can be. This passion has taken me around the world, put me on great stages, and has set me in front of people I could only dream of being face-to-face with. I am grateful.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely NOT!!! Artists or anyone with a vision, let me be the first to tell you your journey will not be easy! People will doubt you, overlook you, and try to destroy your self-esteem. Please know that means you’re amazing and on the right track. Opposition only comes when you’re doing the right thing, and are making an impact. Let that be the sign to keep going.
Get used to it, and use it as fuel to keep driving you. It happens on all levels, to the greatest of all people. Encourage yourself (Talk to yourself out loud, keep genuine people around you, or stay to yourself). Life is not MTV. You may not get rich. People may not chase you down the street for an autograph but know you’re making an impact by just doing your work! Be proud of that!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an Artist/Musician/Producer/Dj/Writer/Speaker, all-around creator! I am known for being a music man, and one who stays to themself. I am proud of all of these things.
It increases peace, and brings less confusion. I enjoy creating, staying out of the way, and building genuine relationships. I know other people feel this way, but what sets me apart is I’m truly happy with what I already have, and know that my gifts will continue to make room for me! It always has.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a very imaginative child. I was happy and loved being around my family. Music was always there. I was never really fond of school. I added this piece to let children know your education may come in another form, and it’s ok. You’re not a loser! You’re not a failure.
But find what piques your interest. I harmonized with my family, played drums with straws and pens, and wanted to draw like my cousin Dominic lol. I loved wrestling and tv shows. I didn’t realize that was a school for me. I was learning how to be a great entertainer. Using all the characteristics I saw Martin, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, or my Father use to captivate a crowd. Those lessons have gotten me to this point.
