Today we’d like to introduce you to Gloria Korlou.
Hi Gloria, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Born and raised in Hartford, CT – my father was the director of marketing for CBS Radio. He was a single-parent and I became a protege, and extra hand around the office. I grew up in the hallways of the radio station and after he retired in 2015, went into Software Engineering while attending college.
It wasn’t until 2020 did my love for Elvis turn into a hobby; collecting original film posters and opening a vinyl record company in Memphis, Tennessee based on restoration for memorabilia and printing vinyl for local artists.
I had no idea what I was doing, where I was going, or the future ahead.
My business partner whom I’d opened Gate Girl Records with walked away after less than 6 months, and I left my Software Engineering job to pursue this new career with a fiery passion.
It was within those next few weeks I met Project Pat, and we began a friendship that soon turned into a budding mentorship where I began as an interim-manager to him. Within a few months, our partnership grew exponentially and the creativity that had blossomed as a child in the music industry alongside my father, was suddenly reprising itself in this new job with Project Pat.
I organized Pat and his brother Juicy J to meet hockey legend Alex Ovechkin for a social media stunt that garnered tens of millions of views, ESPN interviews with Ovi, and more.
Project Pat and I decided to open up his first real store-front and I began overseeing the merchandise for his live-shows alongside building his first website and online store for fans to purchase a plethora of items including autographed vinyl records, posters, cd’s and items never available before.
Over the last two years, I’ve been incredibly blessed to have met an outstanding individual like Pat.
He’s brought a revitalization to my spirit and his mentorship has helped guide not just me, but thousands to their path to Jesus Christ, our lord and savior. I wake up every day with gratefulness to life itself, but that God brought the folks like Pat and his family into my life. The lessons I continue to learn will stay with me forever.
Today, I travel the country with Project Pat as his manager and head of marketing, merchandise, and everything in-between. I’ve gone back to my roots of doing what I love for my career, just like my father did. In April, we had a sold-out Memphis Grizzlies NBA night for Pat with 17,500+ people in attendance. Our upcoming collaborations are larger than life, and still top-secret – but to remember being the little girl running through the hallways of the radio station after school each day, to now being on the road and handling concerts of my own; I’ve never felt more at home. I know my path in life and this is it. It may have just taken some patience and passion to get here.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being raised by a father and not having women around in my life has always been a challenge. I’ve had to raise myself on the feminine side without much of an outlier to how things outta be. It’s all been learning lessons. But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve started to understand that it made me tougher.
In the job I have now, I’m only female in the group and to some, that may seem intimidating. But when you’re raised in this same parallel, it’s another walk in the park. I’ve stopped looking at what I don’t have – and have began reminding myself of the blessings I do have.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m the manager for Project Pat and handle everything from his social media, merchandise, marketing, and tour life when we are also on the road! At 26 years old – I print vinyl records through my record company, Gate Girl Records, where we specialize in limited edition vinyl prints of legends in hip-hop / horrorcore. Our releases have all sold out thus far.
What’s next?
There are so many wonderful plans in the works, most I’m not able to speak on publicly yet.
From going international on a tour with Project Pat (his first time performing outside the U.S.), and adding more to our schedule, I’m looking forward to the next few years ahead.
