Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittnie Howard.
Hi Brittnie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
From the moment I entered this world, I carried a smile that could light up any room. It wasn’t just the smile. it was the energy behind it, the confidence, the joy, and the undeniable desire to connect with people. Even as a child, I was drawn to the spotlight. While some people feared being the center of attention, I felt completely at home there.
My childhood was filled with opportunities to perform. I participated in plays and musical productions, walked runways as a model, cheered from the sidelines, performed with the marching band, and embraced every chance to stand in front of an audience. I even won Miss Congeniality in a beauty pageant, an award that perfectly reflected who I was a bright spirit who loved making others feel seen and welcomed. Looking back, it’s clear that performing wasn’t just something I did; it was a part of who I was.
There were moments, standing on stage beneath the lights, when I realized something about myself. While others felt nervous and shaky, I felt calm. I felt alive. I knew I was different. I knew I possessed a natural comfort in front of an audience and a passion that couldn’t be ignored. Deep down, I believed I had the potential to be a star if I was willing to match that passion with dedication and hard work.
Life, however, has a way of taking us on unexpected journeys.
As I grew older, I built a beautiful life filled with love, marriage, and children. I embraced every role wholeheartedly—wife, mother, caregiver, supporter. Yet somewhere beneath those responsibilities remained the little girl who loved the stage. The dream never disappeared. It simply waited patiently for its moment.
For years, self-doubt whispered questions into my mind. Was it too late? Had I missed my chance? Could I really pursue acting again after stepping away for so long? But over time, I realized something important: dreams don’t have expiration dates. The passion that had lived inside me since childhood was still there, just as bright as ever.
Within the past year, I finally decided to stop questioning myself and start believing in myself. I gave myself permission to pursue something that was solely for me—not because anyone expected it, not because it fit into a plan, but because it filled my soul. I released the doubt, the fear, and the pressure to be anything other than who I truly am.
I took a chance and began seriously exploring professional acting.
What happened next felt almost surreal.
Within months, I began booking major projects opportunities that many aspiring actors spend years working toward. For someone who had stepped away from the industry to build a family and focus on other chapters of life, the momentum was both exciting and validating. It was proof that my talent had never left me. It had simply been waiting for me to return.
Today, I stand in a place of gratitude and confidence. I am no longer the person wondering “what if.” I am the woman who decided to try. I am the mother showing her children that it’s never too late to chase a dream. I am the wife who understands that pursuing personal passions can coexist with building a beautiful family life.
Most importantly, I am the little girl with the bright smile who never stopped loving the spotlight.
The stage still feels like home. The camera still excites me. The passion still burns just as brightly as it did years ago. The difference now is that I trust myself enough to follow it.
This is only the beginning.
I am back, stronger, wiser, and more determined than ever. What once felt like a distant childhood dream is becoming my reality. I am embracing every opportunity, every audition, every role, and every lesson along the way.
The young star I always dreamed of becoming never disappeared.
She was simply waiting for the right moment to rise.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced as a new actress is being doubted by people who have never seen my work or don’t know what to expect from me. It’s easy to feel the weight of others questioning your abilities, especially when you’re pursuing a dream that requires so much vulnerability and confidence. Fortunately, I’ve learned not to let those doubts become my own. Instead, I use them as motivation to work harder, push myself further, and give every role my absolute best. At the end of the day, acting is about telling a story and putting on a great show, and that’s exactly what I intend to do every time I step in front of the camera.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Since beginning my acting journey, I have been blessed with incredible opportunities, including roles in two films, A Baltimore Love Story and Decisions 3, as well as a television series, Cousins on the Come Up. I also appeared as an extra on the reality show The Final Agent and had the amazing opportunity to perform live at Actors Versus, hosted by Awsim Amin during Artscape. Each experience has strengthened my passion for the craft and confirmed that I am exactly where I am meant to be. I am excited to share that all of these projects will be coming to a network near you soon.
What sets me apart is my authenticity, resilience, and natural ability to connect with people. I bring real-life experiences, genuine emotion, and a positive energy to every role I take on. While many actors can perform a character, I strive to bring truth and relatability to each performance. My journey back into acting after dedicating years to my family has given me a unique perspective, confidence, and determination that shines through in my work. I am not afraid to take chances, embrace challenges, and continuously grow, and that passion allows me to leave a lasting impression both on and off the screen.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something People may not know about me is that I have a bit of a green thumb. I have curated a full garden in my backyard with all different types of veggies. My backyard has been turned into a greenery sanctuary for peaceful relaxation any time of the year.
