Daily Inspiration: Meet Brittany Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Jones.

Hi Brittany, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I never dreamt of being a business owner. I always thought I would go to college and pursue a degree. I started my business four years ago when I was six months pregnant with my second child. Prior to starting my business, I was working in a dental office and when my husband and I found out we were expecting I knew I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom with a flexible schedule, that is when Bronzing with Britt was created! I started out of my basement with 4 curtains, my spray tan gun, and my tent.

Starting out I had no idea that this would turn into the full-time job that would one day lead me to have my own storefront location, an entire sunless training program, my own line of sunless tanning products + being able to hire on help! Since day one I have had such a passion for what. I do, I have poured my entire heart (+ a lot of prayers!!) into my business and I am so humbled to think back to where I started vs where I am now.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I think that being a business owner can sort of be “glamorized” and. believe me, it is totally worth it but it is a lot of hard work! It’s not a 9-5 job. It is from when I open my eyes until I close my eyes my brain is always thinking about my business (which can be a struggle too!) There have been many bumps along the way but learning to be grateful for the good times + preserve through the bad times is essential in being a business owner.

I am learning to outsource and take some things off of my plate. I am the spray tan artist, the marketing girl, the inventory chick, the social media specialist, the cleaner, the do-er of all things – it can be incredibly overwhelming maintaining so many different tasks throughout the weeks!

There have been many struggles, many seasons where I doubted myself and just wanted to throw in the towel. Learning to stick it out and go through the hard stuff while growing through those moments has been life-changing for me.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I offer custom airbrush spray tanning specializing in creating the perfect custom blend for each and every skin tone. I am the expert when it comes to bridal spray tans and I love being a part of my bride’s big day! I pride myself in keeping up with continuing education I strive to always learn about different skin types, color lines, and skin conditions so that I am able to serve my clients and give them the best tan + experience each and every time. I am most proud of the atmosphere that I have created within my spray tan studio.

It truly is a safe, warm, and welcoming place. It can be quite intimidating for some people to be seen in their most vulnerable state but I love breaking down the barrier and talking with my clients, getting to know them, and building true, genuine relationships with them. Nothing beats the feeling of watching your client transform and glow with confidence from one single session. It truly is the light of my day and makes all of the hard work so very worth it!

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t believe in “luck” I believe that this is the path that God has called me to and so doors tend to open, and the doors that aren’t for me tend to close. Remain grateful in the good times of business, remain teachable in the bad times of business. I believe in working hard, staying humble, and always doing good for people!
